Henry Harry Cooke
Henry Harry Cooke (1840 – 22 June 1903) was an English-born Australian politician. He was born at St Martin's in Cornwall to wheelwright Thomas Cooke and Jane. He moved to Victoria in 1857 and New South Wales in 1861, where he worked as a miner and storekeeper. On 19 August 1869 he married Mary Ann Isabel Peacock, with whom he had nine children. Having settled in the Forbes area, he founded the ''Forbes and Parkes Gazette'' and was its initial editor. He served as a Parkes alderman and the town's first mayor. In 1880 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the member for Forbes ''Forbes'' () is an American business magazine owned by Integrated Whale Media Investments and the Forbes family. George Fairhurst Hutchinson
George Fairhurst Hutchinson (1844 – 23 November 1923) was an Australian politician. He was born at Canterbury to Edward and Mary Hutchinson; his father was a station manager. He worked as a saddler at Forbes, and was a long-serving alderman who served many times as mayor. His first marriage was to Mary Detores around 1866; they had four children. His second marriage, which took place around 1877, was to Emily Gilligan and produced eleven children. In 1891 Hutchinson was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Forbes, representing the fledgling Labor Party. Albert Gardiner
Albert "Jupp" Gardiner (30 July 1867 – 14 August 1952) was an Australian politician who served as a Senator for New South Wales from 1910 to 1926 and again briefly in 1928. A member of the Labor Party, he served in cabinet as Vice-President of the Executive Council under Andrew Fisher and Billy Hughes, and from 1916 to 1926 was his party's Senate leader; he was its only senator from 1920 to 1922. Before entering federal politics he had served in the Parliament of New South Wales from 1891 to 1895 and from 1904 to 1907. Early life Gardiner was born in Orange, New South Wales, one of twelve children born to Charlotte (née Davis) and William Gardiner. His father was born in Tasmania and worked as a wheelwright; his mother was illiterate. Alfred Stokes (1835 – 15 June 1914) was an English-born Australian politician. He was born in Somerset to publican John Stokes and Sarah Leonard. Walter Thomas Coonan (1853 – 4 October 1926) was an Australian actor. He was born in Hobart to gaol warder Thomas Coonan and Ann Birmingham. A solicitor before entering politics, he practised at West Wyalong and Waverley. He was married three times: firstly on 7 May 1879 to Harriett Elizabeth Hollingdale; secondly on 15 December 1901 to Rebecca Agnes Wales, whom he later divorced; and thirdly to Isabella Jane Peterson. None of these marriages produced children. In 1877 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Bogan, but he was defeated in 1880.
