Henry Harris (actor)
Henry Harris (c. 1634 – 1704) was an English stage actor and theatre manager. Initially a painter he was a founder member of the new Duke's Company in 1660 following the Restoration which established itself at the old Salisbury Court Theatre before moving to the new Lincoln's Inn Fields Theatre shortly afterwards. Due to his background Harris may have been a set designer and painter during his early years with the company. However, by 1661 he was acting, and his first recorded role was in William Davenant's ''The Siege of Rhodes'' that summer. He quickly established himself as the second actor in the troupe after Thomas Betterton. In 1663 he was briefly arrested, likely due to an attempt to change allegiance to the rival King's Company which was illegal at the time. The dispute seemed to be over pay, and he remained with the Duke's Company. In these years he also mentored an emerging actor Joseph Williams who would go on to have a long stage career of his own. Henry Percy Harris
Sir Henry Percy Harris (8 September 1856 - 23 August 1941) was a British Conservative Party politician who served first on the London County Council, and then as a Member of Parliament. Henry Percy Harris was born on 8 September 1856, the son of Sir George David Harris, a member of the London County Council from its creation in January 1889. Henry Harris was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford University, before qualifying as a barrister in 1881. Like his father, Henry Harris served on the London County Council, he representing Paddington from 1892 to 1910. He was deputy chairman of the Council between 1898–1899 and chairman between 1907 and 1908. He was among the Council group allied to the Conservative Party, first known as the Moderate Party then, from 1906, the Municipal Reform Party. Henry Edward Harris (6 August 1854 – 8 November 1923) was an English cricketer and cricket administrator. Harris was born at Brighton in August 1854, where he was privately educated. He was associated with Brighton Cricket Club, where he was its honorary secretary in 1875 and 1876. Relocating to Hampshire, Wheeler made three appearances in first-class cricket for Hampshire in 1880, making two appearances against Sussex Sussex (), from the Old English (), is a historic county in South East England that was formerly an independent medieval Anglo-Saxon kingdom. Henry Vere Poulett-Harris (22 April 1865 – 7 March 1933) was an Australian cricket player, runner, footballer, gold prospector and gold mine owner. Vere Poulett-Harris played five first-class cricket matches for the Tasmania and Western Australia cricket teams between 1883 and 1899. One early news report described him as a "sterling cricketer and footballer" whilst another described him as a "sterling batsman and good field." Vere Poulett-Harris' father was Richard Deodatus Poulett-Harris, an educationalist, priest, the founder of the Masonic Lodge in Tasmania and the co-founder of the University of Tasmania. Amongst his other activities, Richard was passionate about cricket and, in 1882, was elected a trustee of the Southern Tasmanian Cricket Association. Henry Hiram "Smoky" Harris (April 28, 1905 – December 31, 1975) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Harris played in the Prairie Hockey League (PHL), Pacific Coast Hockey League (PCHL) and the National Hockey League (NHL). Harris played 32 games for the Boston Bruins during the 1930–31 NHL season, 1930–31 season, which had several years earlier employed his older brother Smokey Harris, Wilfred. He was born in Kenora, Ontario. Playing career Harris first played senior-level hockey in 1927–28 for the Regina Capitals of the Prairie Hockey League. After one season, Harris transferred to the Seattle Eskimos of the Pacific Coast Hockey League. Harris played two seasons for the Eskimos before being traded to the Boston Bruins of the NHL.
