Henry Espy was the Mayor of Clarksdale, Mississippi until 2013. He is the brother of former United States Secretary of Agriculture, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy and father of Mississippi House of Representatives, Mississippi state Representative Chuck Espy, a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Clarksdale, Jaye Espy, Charisse Espy, and Paula Espy. Clarksdale, Mississippi
Clarksdale is a city in and the county seat of Coahoma County, Mississippi, United States. It is located along the Sunflower River. Clarksdale is named after John Clark, a settler who founded the city in the mid-19th century when he established a timber mill and business. Mike Espy
Alphonso Michael Espy (born November 30, 1953) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 25th United States Secretary of Agriculture from 1993 to 1994. He was both the first African American and first person from the Deep South to hold the position. A member of the Democratic Party, Espy previously served as the U.S. representative for Mississippi's 2nd congressional district from 1987 to 1993. In March 2018, Espy announced his candidacy for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Thad Cochran. Espy placed second in the November 6 nonpartisan special election before facing Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith in a November 27 runoff. The Mississippi House of Representatives is the lower house of the Mississippi Legislature, the lawmaking body of the U.S. state of Mississippi. According to the state constitution of 1890, it is to comprise no more than 122 members elected for four-year terms. To qualify as a member of the House candidates must be at least 21 years old, a resident of Mississippi for at least four years, and a resident in the district for at least two years. Henry William "Chuck" Espy III (born April 24, 1975) is an American politician. Espy is Mayor of Clarksdale, Mississippi, elected June 2017. He also was a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives from 2000 to 2016. Biography Chuck Espy served with distinction in the Mississippi House of Representatives for sixteen years. Yazoo City is a U.S. city in Yazoo County, Mississippi. It was named after the Yazoo River, which, in turn was named by the French explorer Robert La Salle in 1682 as "Rivière des Yazous" in reference to the Yazoo tribe living near the river's mouth.
