Henry Cruz
Henry (Acosta) Cruz (born February 27, 1952, in Christiansted, United States Virgin Islands) is a former professional baseball outfielder who currently works as the director of the Los Angeles Dodgers Dominican baseball academy. Career Cruz was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Dodgers on January 1, 1971. He made his major league debut, as a pinch hitter, on April 18, 1975, against the San Francisco Giants. He recorded his first hit on April 20 against the Giants. Cruz played parts of the 1975 and 1976 seasons with the Dodgers. He was claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox near the end of the 1977 season while hitting .353 for the AAA Albuquerque Dukes."Twice Around the Bases" book by Kevin Kennedy Cruz was signed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox in September 1977. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field).
