Henry Bingham Baring
Henry Bingham Baring (4 March 1804 – 25 April 1869) was a British Conservative Party politician. He was the son of Henry Baring and Maria Matilda Bingham, daughter of American-born statesman William Bingham. Bingham was a half-brother of Evelyn Baring, 1st Earl of Cromer and a member of the distinguished Baring family. He entered the House of Commons in 1831 as Member of Parliament for the rotten borough of Callington in Cornwall. When Callington was disenfranchised the following year, he was returned for the Marlborough constituency in Wiltshire, and held his seat until 1868. Sir Henry Rich, 1st Baronet
Sir Henry Rich, 1st Baronet (1803 – 5 November 1869) was a Liberal Party politician in the United Kingdom. He was Member of Parliament for Knaresborough in 1837 and for Richmond between 1846 & 1861 when he accepted the Chiltern Hundreds to make room for Sir Roundell Palmer. He was Lord of the Treasury from July 1846 to March 1852. Educated at Sandhurst and Trinity College, Cambridge (B.A. in 1825). He served in the British Army and was at the taking of Poonah and the Battle of Kirkee for which he was awarded a medal. For some time he was a Groom in Waiting to her Majesty Queen Victoria. He was the illegitimate son of Admiral Sir Thomas Rich, 5th Baronet of Sonning (1733–1803), and Elizabeth Burt. On 7 September 1852 at the parish church of Acton, Cheshire, he married Julia, daughter of the late Rev. James Tomkinson of Dorfield Hall, Cheshire. He was created a baronet in 1863. Sir William Gibson Craig, 2nd Baronet, PC, FRSE (2 August 1797 – 12 March 1878), was a Scottish advocate and politician. Life He was born the first son of Sir James Gibson-Craig, 1st Baronet, and his wife, Anne Thomson. He was educated at the High School in Edinburgh and then privately in Yorkshire. William became an advocate in 1820. He was Lord Clerk Register and Keeper of the Signet from 1862 until his death. He was made a Privy Counsellor in 1863. Hugh Fortescue, 3rd Earl Fortescue DL (4 April 1818 – 10 October 1905), known as Viscount Ebrington from 1841 to 1861, was a British peer and occasional Liberal Party politician. Life He was born in London on 4 April 1818. He was the eldest son of Hugh Fortescue, 2nd Earl Fortescue (1783-1861), by his first wife, Lady Susan (died 1827), eldest daughter of Dudley Ryder, 1st Earl of Harrowby. He was a Cambridge Apostle. He was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Devon on 4 March 1839. He entered the House of Commons in 1841 as a member for Plymouth. Edward Horsman PC, PC (Ire) (8 February 180730 November 1876), was a British politician. Background and education Horsman was the son of William Horsman, a well-to-do gentleman of Stirling, Scotland, who died 22 March 1845, aged 86. His mother was Jane, third daughter of Sir John Dalrymple, 4th Baronet, and sister of the seventh and eighth Earls of Stair; she died in 1833. He entered Rugby School at Midsummer 1819, and afterwards proceeded to Trinity College, Cambridge, but did not take a degree. While at Cambridge he took part in three first-class cricket matches. He was admitted an advocate of the Scottish bar in 1832, but did not long continue to practise his profession. Henry Tufnell (1805 – 15 June 1854) was a British Whig politician. He was born the eldest son of William Tufnell of Chichester (MP for Colchester, 1806) and was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford, where he graduated B.A. in 1829. Whilst at Oxford, he, along with George Cornewall Lewis, translated Karl Otfried Müller's book ''The History and Antiquities of the Doric Race'' into English. He was appointed secretary to Sir Robert Wilmot-Horton when the latter was Governor of Ceylon and from 1835 to 1839 was Private Secretary to Lord Minto when that Earl was First Lord of the Admiralty.
