Henno Althoff
Henno Althoff (born September 16, 1960 in Lippstadt, West Germany) is a German record producer, recording engineer and studio owner, best known for his association with Australian fingerstyle guitarist Tommy Emmanuel. Biography Althoff, a long-time Chet Atkins admirer, specializes in the recording of guitar music. It was at a Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention in Nashville in the 1990s where he met Emmanuel for the first time. After Emmanuel had moved to Europe, Althoff played a key role in getting him started there, he aided in organizing concerts. Later, Althoff produced Emmanuel's collaboration with guitarist Jim Nichols titled ''Chet Lag'' (re-issued as ''Happy Hour'') and recorded several more of the Australian's work. Emmanuel dedicated his composition ''Sanitarium Shuffle'' to him, referring to Althoff's Lippstadt home as his sanitarium. Lippstadt () is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is the largest town within the district of Soest. Lippstadt is situated about 60 kilometres east of Dortmund, 40 kilometres south of Bielefeld and 30 kilometres west of Paderborn. Rick Kemp
Frederick Stanley 'Rick' Kemp (born 15 November 1941) is an English bass player, guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and record producer, best known for his work with the British folk rock band Steeleye Span. Projects In the 1960s, he shot to prominence through his work with singer-songwriter Michael Chapman, and had a reputation within the music industry as a rock and blues session bassist, before his transition into British folk rock. Kemp joined Steeleye Span in 1972, left in 1986, rejoined in 2000, and left again at the end of 2016. In 1971 Kemp auditioned for King Crimson, and got the gig shortly before the band recorded their album ''Islands''. However, he turned down the opportunity to join them permanently, and reportedly departed the band after just a week, with his role as bassist being filled by singer Boz Burrell. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Fledg'ling Records is a British independent record label founded in 1991. The label has re-released some albums previously issued by Hokey Pokey Records which was also run by the Fledg'ling founder—David Suff. David Suff having been half of the team running the Richard Thompson fanzine—"Hokey Pokey" (named after a Richard and Linda Thompson LP). Both record labels specialise in classic and new British folk and folk-rock. Fledg'ling is based in London. Their first release was ''Alright Jack'' by Home Service in 1991 (FLY 001). Indeed, no other records can be traced on the label until another album by Home Service "Wild Life" in 1995. Many of the early releases feature contributions by Graeme Taylor. ''Fotheringay 2'' is the second album by Fotheringay, the group formed by Sandy Denny after she left Fairport Convention in 1969. The band was short-lived, and broke up in 1971 after only a small number of tracks for this album had been completed, some of which then subsequently appeared on other compilations. The remainder were assembled (posthumously in the cases of Denny and Trevor Lucas), with additional studio recording as needed, from masters in various states of completeness by Jerry Donahue and finally released in 2008.
