Victor William Henningsen, Jr. (May 19, 1924 – March 26, 2007) was an American businessman, entrepreneur, political activist and philanthropist. Education and military service Henningsen was educated at Phillips Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and Yale University, where he graduated in 1950 and was a member of Skull and Bones. He served in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Indian Ocean war zones as a midshipman, third and second mate in the merchant navy, finishing as Lt. (JG) in the United States Navy Reserve. Business career He spent his entire professional career with his family's poultry and egg company, Henningsen Foods Inc. (founded 1889), from office boy to President/CEO. Thorkild Henningsen
Thorkild Henningsen (7 February 1884 – 27 January 1931) was a Danish architect. He is best known for his design of numerous terraced housing developments, especially Bakkehusene at Bellahøj whish is listed on the Danish Registry of Protected buildings and Places. In spite of his early death, he also had a significant influence on Danish residential architecture of the 1920s through his work for Landsforeningen Bedre Byggeskik as well as through his writings in newspapers, architectural journals and ''Kritisk Revy''. Poul Henningsen (9 September 1894 – 31 January 1967) was a Danish author, critic, architect, and designer. In Denmark, where he often is referred to simply as PH, he was one of the leading figures of the cultural life of Denmark between the World Wars. He is most associated with his design of the PH-lamp series of glare-free, shaded lamps. His lamps used carefully analyzed reflecting and baffling of the light rays from the bulb to achieve illumination that was not harsh and glaring but shed warm, soft light. His light fixtures were manufactured by Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, a company with which Henningsen would build a lifelong working relationship. Otto H. Henningsen (15 September 1883 – 22 December 1961) was an American politician. Henningsen was a native of Clinton, Iowa, born on 15 September 1883 to parents Henning and Anna Henningsen. He attended public and business school in his hometown. Henningson then worked for the Peterson–Bell Box Factory, followed by Curtis Bros. & Co. Between 1922 and 1958, Henningsen was involved in insurance and real estate, serving fifteen years as secretary and treasurer for the Clinton real estate board, and seventeen years as secretary and general manager of the Clinton Plate Glass Association. Agnes Kathinka Malling Henningsen (18 November 1868 – 21 April 1962) was a Danish writer and an activist for sexual freedom. Her writings were centred on love and sex, as was her own life. Biography Henningsen was born on the Skovsbo estate in the south of Funen where her father was the farmer. After both her mother and father died when she was young, she and her sister were sent by the family to the girls boarding school at Antvorskov near Slagelse. After the unfortunate events in her family, Henningsen remained an atheist for the rest of her life.
