Henning Schulzrinne
Henning Schulzrinne is a German-American computer scientist, who led research and development of the voice over IP network protocols. Life Schulzrinne studied engineering management at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the German Technische Universität Darmstadt in Darmstadt, where he earned his ''Vordiplom'' (cf. Diplom), then went on to earn his M.Sc. at the University of Cincinnati and his Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. From 1992 to 1994 he worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories. From 1994 to 1996 he worked in Berlin at the ''Forschungs-Institut für Offene Kommunikationssysteme (GMD FOKUS)'', an institute of the now-defunct Gesellschaft für Mathematik und Datenverarbeitung (GMD) which became part of the Fraunhofer Society as Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems. The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (etit) is a department of the Technische Universität Darmstadt. It was the first faculty of electrical engineering in the world and offered the first course of study in electrical engineering. Real-time Transport Protocol
The Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) is a network protocol for delivering audio and video over IP networks. RTP is used in communication and entertainment systems that involve streaming media, such as telephony, video teleconference applications including WebRTC, television services and web-based push-to-talk features. RTP typically runs over User Datagram Protocol (UDP). RTP is used in conjunction with the RTP Control Protocol (RTCP). While RTP carries the media streams (e.g., audio and video), RTCP is used to monitor transmission statistics and quality of service (QoS) and aids synchronization of multiple streams. Real Time Streaming Protocol
The Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) is an application-level network protocol designed for multiplexing and packetizing multimedia transport streams (such as interactive media, video and audio) over a suitable transport protocol. RTSP is used in entertainment and communications systems to control streaming media servers. The protocol is used for establishing and controlling media sessions between endpoints. Clients of media servers issue commands such as ''play'', ''record'' and ''pause'', to facilitate real-time control of the media streaming from the server to a client (video on demand) or from a client to the server (voice recording). Mark James Handley is Professor of Networked Systems in the Department of Computer Science of University College London since 2003, where he leads the Networks Research Group. Education Handley received his PhD from UCL in 1997, under the supervision of Jon Crowcroft. Julian Clarence Levi
Julian Clarence Levi (December 8, 1874 – August 23, 1971) was an American architect, watercolor painter, and philanthropist. Biography Levi was born on December 8, 1874, on West 51st Street in Midtown Manhattan. His father, Albert Augustus Levi, was an investment banker originally from Germany and was one of the trustees of the Society for Ethical Culture upon its founding in 1877. The elder Levi was also a brother-in-law of the Seligman brothers who founded J. & W. Seligman & Co. Levi helped found the San Francisco branch of the family business, J. Seligman & Co.
