Hennie Jacobs
Hennie Jacobs (born 20 June 1981) is a South African actor, musician, singer, comedian, and songwriter. Early life Hennie Jacobs was born to Francois and Esther Jacobs on 20 June 1981 in Pretoria, the then Transvaal Province, now Gauteng Province of South Africa. Jacobs was raised in Pretoria and is the youngest of three children (he has an older brother and sister). After matriculating from Hoërskool Waterkloof in Pretoria in 1999, he studied at the University of Pretoria towards a BComm (Hotel and Tourism Management) degree. In 2001 he went on to study drama at Technikon Pretoria, now known as Tshwane University of Technology, where he was awarded a Baccalaureus Technologiae in Drama in 2003. Personal life In November 2008 Jacobs and his then fiancée, Marissa Vosloo, fell victim to a carjacking at a petrol station at Paulshof, Gauteng, Paulshof in northern Johannesburg. The Amper, called the Ammer upstream of the Ammersee, through which it runs, is the largest tributary of the Isar in southern Bavaria, Germany. Stomp (stylized as ''STOMP'') is a percussion group, originating in Brighton, England, that uses the body and ordinary objects to create a physical theatre performance using rhythms, acrobatics and pantomime. History and performances 1990–98 Stomp was created by Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell in 1991. The performers use a variety of everyday objects as percussion instruments in their shows. Cresswell and McNicholas first worked together in 1981 as members of the street band Pookiesnackenburger and the theatre group Cliff Hanger. Together, these groups presented a series of street comedy musicals at the Edinburgh Festival throughout the early 1980s. After two albums, a TV series and extensive touring throughout Europe, Pookiesnackenburger also produced the "Bins" commercial for Heineken lager. Stok is a village in the Leh district of Ladakh, India. It is located in the Leh tehsil, in the Indus Valley 17 km southeast of the Leh town. The village is home to the 14th century Stok Monastery, with its high seated Gautama Buddha statue, constructed between 2012–2015 and consecrated by the Dalai Lama on 8 August 2016. Stok's 19th century palace is the current residence of the former royal family of Ladakh. Within the palace, a museum contains the shrine, crown, ceremonial dress and jewellery of the Ladakhi king. Aardklop
Aardklop is an annual South African arts festival held in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Potchefstroom has always been a cultural city and home to several well-known South African writers and artists. The Aardklop National Arts Festival has been in existence from 1998 and has since become a bastion of arts and culture in South Africa. The festival incorporates predominantly, but not exclusively, Afrikaans theatre, music, cabaret and visual arts, presented in a variety of venues across the town. A large crafts market and open-air performances also form an integral part of the festival. The event annually draws more than 700 artists over a period of 6 days.
