Hennaarderadeel is a former municipality in the Dutch province of Friesland, southwest of Leeuwarden. Since 1984, the area has been a part of the municipality of Littenseradiel. Easterein
Easterein ( nl, Oosterend ) is a village in the municipality Súdwest-Fryslân in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It is southeast of Wommels and southwest of Itens, in the middle of Bolsward, Sneek, Leeuwarden and Franeker. The center is situated on the Oosterendervaart, which connects the Wijnsevaart and the Hidaardervaart with each other. In 2019 the village had 970 residents. The village also includes the hamlets Driehuizen (uninhabited part) Meilahuizen and Schrok. Until 1955 Roodhuis was also part of Oosterend. History The age of the village is unclear, it may have originated when the island on which it was situated, also referred to as Oosterend, had been diked. This was the earliest dike. It is also thought that it was created on a mound before that, but the village itself had several elevations, whether or not they were raised. Littenseradiel
Littenseradiel () is a former municipality in the northern Netherlands, known in Dutch as Littenseradeel (). The municipality was formed on 1 January 1984 by a merger of the former municipalities Baarderadeel and Hennaarderadeel. On 1 January 2018, the municipality was dissolved and its territory was split between three other municipalities: Waadhoeke, which was established that day, Leeuwarden and Súdwest-Fryslân. Leeuwarden
Leeuwarden (; fy, Ljouwert, longname=yes /; Town Frisian: ''Liwwadden''; Leeuwarder dialect: ''Leewarden'') is a city and municipality in Friesland, Netherlands, with a population of 123,107 (2019). It is the provincial capital and seat of the Provincial Council of Friesland. It is located about 50 km west of Groningen and 110 km north east from the Dutch capital Amsterdam (as the crow flies). Wommels
Wommels is a village in Súdwest-Fryslân municipality in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 2,216 in January 2017. History The village was first mentioned in the second half of the 13th century as Wimelinghe, and means "settlement of the people of Winiwald or Wimila (person)." Wommels is a ''terp'' village from the middle ages. Later the village extended along the canal. The church which probably dated from the 13th century burned down in the late-15th century. It was rebuilt in 1508. The current tower dates from 1862. The ''stins'' Sminia State used to be located in Wommels and was built after 1706. In 1898, it was owned by mayor Hopperus Buma who transformed the estate into a villa in Renaissance Revival. After a dispute with the councilers, he resigned and moved his villa brick by brick to Haarlem. Part of the forest which belong to the estate has remained. Wommels was home to 649 people in 1840.
