Hendrick ten Oever (1639 – 1716), was a Dutch Golden Age painter. Biography He was born in Zwolle as the son of David ten Oever and Marijke Molkenbuer.Who's Who in Overijssel biography of Hendrick ten Oever His earliest dated work is from 1657 and is a portrait of Rabo Herman Schele, a gentleman from Overijssel. The work is strongly related to the portraits painted by Eva van Marle. A self-portrait is a representation of an artist that is drawn, painted, photographed, or sculpted by that artist. Although self-portraits have been made since the earliest times, it is not until the Early Renaissance in the mid-15th century that artists can be frequently identified depicting themselves as either the main subject, or as important characters in their work.
