Hemantha Boteju
Jayawardene Welathanthrige Hemantha Devapriya Boteju, commonly known as Hemantha Boteju, (born 3 November 1977) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer, who played in two One Day Internationals in 1999. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Umpiring career He currently works as an umpire and stood in a tour match during Australia's tour to Sri Lanka in July 2016. Domestic career He was trained by the late Pavandeep Jumararunga Athwal as a youngster in Sri Lanka. Despite having not performed well during his first match, Boteju has come up through the Sri Lankan cricket team from the Under-19s and the Pepsi tri-nation series. Deshamanya Arjuna Ranatunga ( si, අර්ජුන රණතුංග; ta, அர்ஜூன ரணதுங்க; born 1 December 1963), is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and politician, who was the 1996 Cricket World Cup winning captain for Sri Lanka. Lankan Cricket Club is a first-class cricket team in Sri Lanka. History Lankan Cricket Club played in the Premier Trophy from 2005–06 to 2012–13. It was one of six clubs that lost their places when the competition was reduced from 20 teams to 14 for the 2013–14 season. It also lost its List A status at the same time. The club played at lower levels until the 2019–20 season when it was promoted back to the 'A' division of the Premier Trophy. A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format.
