Helmuth Gräff
Helmuth Gräff (born 12 April 1958 in Gars am Kamp) is an Austrian painter, poet and drawer. Gräffs painterly style is rooted on the one hand in the artistic heritage of Vincent van Gogh, and on the other hand he can also be regarded as a precursor or heritage of the Neuen Wilde. Life Helmuth Gräff is the child of Rudolf Gräff and Leopoldine Gräff (born Kimmerl) from Vienna-Schwechat, who belongs to the family of former imperial judge Matthias Kimmerl of Kaiserebersdorf (1818–1883). Gräff was married first to Martina Maria Gach, daughter of the architect Richard Gach. His son Matthias Laurenz Gräff works also as an academic painter. In his youth Helmuth Gräff had been drawing thousands of artworks and kept on practising until the age of 20 where he began to study at the Wiener Kunstschule by Fritz Martinz. Rudolf Leopold
Rudolf Leopold (1 March 1925 – 29 June 2010) was an Austrian art collector, whose collection of 5,000 works of art was purchased by the Government of Austria and used to create the Leopold Museum, of which he was made director for life. Claims had been made by Jewish survivors of the Holocaust that some of the pieces in the collection were Nazi plunder and should be returned to their rightful owners. Biography Leopold was born on 1 March 1925 in Vienna, and said in interviews that he had escaped conscription by the Nazis by hiding in a small village in a remote part of Austria. He earned his medical degree from the Medical University of Vienna. He started actively collecting art in the mid-1950s, with a major early focus being pieces by Egon Schiele, whose works were available inexpensively at the time. Palais Kinsky is a Baroque palace in central Vienna, Austria. It was originally built for Count Wirich Philipp von Daun, the garrison commander whose son Leopold became a Field Marshal of Empress Maria Theresa. The palace was later bought by the Kinsky family of Bohemia, and it is sometimes called the Palais Daun-Kinsky. History The palace was commissioned by Count Wirich Philipp von Daun, and construction started in 1713 under the direction of architect Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt. Prince Józef Poniatowski, a Polish general and Marshal of France, was born in the palace on 7 May 1763. The Leopold Museum, housed in the Museumsquartier in Vienna, Austria, is home to one of the largest collections of modern Austrian art, featuring artists such as Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka and Richard Gerstl. The Museum Of Young Art (MOYA) founded 2005 in Vienna, Austria, was the first museum worldwide exclusively devoted to 21st-century young art. The MOYA was privately owned, founded & owned by the Swiss and German art historian and art manager Dr. Kolja Kramer. It presented artworks produced exclusively after the year 2000 and focused especially on the early work of artists. The stylistic focus of its exhibitions was on contemporary painting, video installations, photography and Fantastic Realism.
