Helmut Bieler
Helmut Bieler (7 June 1940 in Gersfeld, Hesse-Nassau – 11 January 2019 in Rimsting) was a Germans, German composer and pianist. He studied composition with Franz Xaver Lehner and Fritz Schieri, piano with Friedrich Wührer and Aldo Schoen and learned music at the University for Music and Performing Arts, Munich. From 1967 to 1979 he taught at the Markgräfin-Wilhelmine-Gymnasium, Bayreuth. In 1979 he became a docent and 1988 a professor of music education at the University of Bayreuth. He founded the Ensemble Musica Viva (Bayreuth) in 1980 and the Bayreuth Days of Contemporary Music in 1988. His music has been performed in Europe (e.g. Gaudeamus Muziekweek and ISCM World Music Days Festival in Aarhus, Ensemble Sortisatio), Russia and the USA. Gersfeld
Gersfeld is a town in the district of Fulda, in Hesse, Germany. It is situated on the Fulda River, in the Rhön Mountains, southeast of Fulda. It belonged to the abbey-principality of Fulda before secularisation in 1803. It then belonged to the Principality of Nassau-Orange-Fulda between 1803 and 1806, to France between 1806 and 1810, and then later to the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt between 1810 and 1813. After the Battle of Leipzig, it was occupied by the Allied troops of the Sixth Coalition between 1813 and 1815. After that, it was ceded to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1815. During the Austro-Prussian War, it was occupied by Prussia before its annexation in the newly established Hesse Nassau province. It was finally incorporated in the state of Hesse in 1945. Ensemble Sortisatio
Ensemble Sortisatio is a quartet (viola, oboe/cor anglais, bassoon and guitar) founded by violist Matthias Sannemüller in 1992 in Leipzig, Germany. Its members are mostly soloists at the MDR Symphony Orchestra. They have specialized in contemporary classical music. Formation The Ensemble Sortisatio was founded in 1992 by Matthias Sannemüller in the city of Leipzig. Sannemüller was a pupil from Dietmar Hallmann and member of the Gruppe Neue Musik Hanns Eisler. The name comes from the Sortisatio concept and refers to the casual combination of the instruments in the ensemble. The idea came from the composer Reiner Bredemeyer. Members of the quartet are Walter Klingner (oboe and cor anglais), Axel Andrae (bassoon), Matthias Sannemüller (viola) and Thomas Blumenthal (guitar). Male ( symbol: ♂) is the sex of an organism that produces the gamete (sex cell) known as sperm, which fuses with the larger female gamete, or ovum, in the process of fertilization.
