''Hello'' is the nineteenth studio album by South Korean singer Cho Yong-pil. It was released on April 23, 2013, through his self-founded label Pil Records, and marked his first album release in ten years. Mostly recognized for his trot and folk-centered discography, the production of ''Hello'' was primarily handled by Western producers and explored a new style of music in comparison to his previous works. The album, along with its singles, were met with acclaim following its release. "Bounce" was named Song of the Year by various organizations while ''Hello'' won several album awards. The album experienced commercial success, topping the Gaon Albums Chart and sold more than 250,000 copies in 2013, making it the year's fifth best-selling album in South Korea. Cho Yong-pil
Cho Yong-pil (; born March 21, 1950) is a South Korean singer who is considered one of the most influential figures in Korean popular music. He debuted as a member of the rock band Atkins in 1968 and made his solo debut with the hit single "Come Back to Busan Port" in 1976. Cho has released 19 solo albums and has remained consistently popular during his 50-year career. Nicknamed the "King of Pop" in his native country, his songs have ranked number one on South Korean music charts in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2010s. He was recognized with the Eungwan Order of Cultural Merit for his enormous impact on the Korean pop music scene. He was selected as Singer of the Year and his song "Bounce" was selected as Song of the Year in the surveys conducted by Gallup Korea in 2013. SBS MTV
SBS M is a South Korean pay television music channel owned by SBS Medianet, a division of SBS Media Holdings. It features South Korean pop artists, international music, news, and a few reality and variety programs. It was launched in 2001 as the South Korean version of the US MTV. In 2011, it came under the SBS Paramount unit, a joint venture of SBS Medianet and Paramount Networks EMEAA and became SBS MTV. In June 2022, SBS and Paramount ceased their joint-venture, and the channel was renamed as SBS M. During its run as SBS MTV, it carried programs originally from the American MTV, along with a few Asian programs of its MTV Asian counterparts. The Mnet Asian Music Award for Best Music Video () is an award presented annually by CJ E&M (Mnet) at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. The event was launched in 1999 as the Mnet Video Music Awards and was primarily a music video-centered awards ceremony, modeled after the MTV Video Music Awards. From its inaugural ceremony up until the 2005 awards, the category was officially titled Music Video of the Year and consisted of one of the two ''daesang'' (or most prestigious) prizes, alongside the Most Popular Music Video category. The MAMA Award for Song of the Year () is an honor presented at the annual MAMA Awards, a South Korean awards ceremony presented by Mnet.
