Hellier De Carteret
Hellier de Carteret ( fl. 1563 – 1578) was the first Seigneur of Sark, reigning from 1563 to 1578. He was the son of Édouard de Carteret, Seigneur of Saint Ouen (d. 1533), and grandson of Philip de Carteret, 8th Seigneur of St Ouen. It was Hellier's idea and initiative to re-cultivate the deserted island in 1563, and he was rewarded by being granted, by a Letters Patent, the fief in 1565 by Elizabeth I. He was also Seigneur of Saint Ouen in Jersey. He married his cousin, Margaret de Carteret. She was the widow of Clement Dumaresq and daughter of the bailiff Helier de Carteret, the uncle and namesake to the Seigneur of Sark. Hellier and Margaret's son was Philippe de Carteret I. Cyril And Libbye Hellier
Cyril and Libbye Hellier (born January 21, 1952) are identical twins and American operatic sopranos. Natives of Houma, Louisiana, they are the great-grandchildren of the Confederate Colonel John Henry Hellier. The sopranos are graduates of Nicholls State University's Department of Music, where they appeared in a 1980 production of Menotti's ''Amahl and the Night Visitors'', with Cyril singing the part of Amahl. Earlier that year, however, they formally debuted in a production of Puccini's ''Suor Angelica'' (with Libbye essaying the name role), at Loyola University of the South. After an hiatus of seven years, the Helliers returned to the stage for the title roles of Humperdinck's '' Hänsel und Gretel'', for The New Opera Theatre, New Orleans. In the 1988-89 season, they alternated as Bastienne in the child Mozart's ''Bastien und Bastienne'' for the same ensemble. Kirsten Hellier
Kirsten Louise Hellier (née Smith; born 6 October 1969 in Tokoroa) is a former javelin thrower, who represented New Zealand at the Commonwealth and the Olympic Games. She set her personal best (62.52 metres) in 1994 with the old javelin type. Hellier was the coach of World Champion shot putter Valerie Adams from 1998 until 2010. At the 1994 Commonwealth Games Hellier won the silver medal in the women's javelin with a throw of 60.40 m. She placed 8th at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in the same event. Hellier competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics where she placed 17th overall in qualifying with a throw of 59.34 m. Hellier currently works at Macleans College as a sports co-coordinator. Hellier is a digital documentary series directed by Karl Pfeiffer, under the banner of Planet Weird, that aims to explore a string of synchronicities that take place in Hellier, Kentucky. The first season, which consisted of five episodes, was released for free on January 18, 2019, on YouTube and other platforms on a pay-what-you-want model. The second season, which consisted of ten episodes, was released first on Amazon Prime Video on November 29, 2019 and later on YouTube on December 13, 2019. The ''Hellier Stradivarius'' of ''c.'' 1679 is a violin made by Antonio Stradivari of Cremona, Italy. It derives its name from the Hellier family, who might well have bought it directly from the luthier himself. Ownership The ''Hellier Stradivarius'' has had a convoluted ownership history. It seems to have been in the possession of the Hellier family from the beginning of the 18th century. Samuel Hellier, High Sheriff of Staffordshire 1745, probably brought the violin to England. However, two Cremona violins are first mentioned in the will of his uncle in 1719 and all formed part of a longstanding collection that was kept in the family until 1880.
