Helge Vatsend
Helge Vatsend (25 November 1928 – 24 January 1994) was a Norwegian poet and novelist. He made his literary debut in 1958 with the poetry collection ''Du''. Other collections are ''Stenbruddet'' from 1963, and ''Fjernsynsdikt'' from 1982. He published the novel ''Et hus ved veien'' in 1965. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with more than two million unique visitors per month. Paper editions 1978–2007 The ''SNL'' was created in 1978, when the two publishing houses Aschehoug and Gyldendal merged their encyclopedias and created the company Kunnskapsforlaget. Up until 1978 the two publishing houses of Aschehoug and Gyldendal, Norway's two largest, had published ' and ', respectively. The respective first editions were published in 1907–1913 (Aschehoug) and 1933–1934 (Gyldendal). The slump in sales for paper-based encyclopedias around the turn of the 21st century hit Kunnskapsforlaget hard, but a fourth edition of the paper encyclopedia was secured by a grant of ten million Norwegian kroner from the foundation Fritt Ord in 2003. Mads Wiel Nygaards Endowment
Mads Wiel Nygaard's Endowment is an annually awarded literary prize from the publishing house Aschehoug. The prize is a recognition of superior literary work. The publisher's editorial management makes the award based on their collective judgement of merit. Applications are not accepted. The endowment is awarded in recognition of Mads Wiel Nygaard (1898–1952). Nygaard was the chief executive officer of Aschehoug. In 1940, he replaced his father William Martin Nygaard as CEO and served in that position until his own death during November 1952. Erling Pedersen
Erling Pedersen (born 15 January 1947) is a Norwegian novelist, writer of short stories, and children's writer. Biography Erling Pedersen was born in Rauma, in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Pedersen moved to Hedrum (now a part of Larvik municipality) as a teacher in 1973. He was worked as a teacher until 1980. He made his literary début in 1972 with the short story collection '' Rottenes konge'', for which he was awarded the Tarjei Vesaas' debutantpris. He has written several books for adults, youth and children, and several youth books are published abroad. Pedersen is also a playwrights, with a series of performances on radio and TV. Among his children's books are '' Blindgjenger'' from 1982 and ''På dypt vann'' from 1985. He has been translated into several languages.
