Helge Barstad
Helge Barstad (9 May 1928 – 22 September 2012) was a Norwegian judge and politician for the Conservative Party born in Vartdal. He was mayor of Førde from 1979 to 1981. In 1981, when the Willoch's First Cabinet assumed office, he was appointed state secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture. He held this position until 1983. Vartdal
Vartdal is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1895 until its dissolution in 1965. The area now sits in the northwestern part of the Ørsta municipality, along the Vartdalsfjorden. The administrative centre was the village Sætre, which is also known as Vartdal. Other villages in the municipality were Flåskjer and Nordre Vartdal. The main church for Vartdal was Vartdal Church, located in the village of Nordre Vartdal. History The municipality was established on 1 January 1895 when all of Ulstein located south of the Vartdalsfjorden was separated from the rest of that municipality to form a new municipality which was called ''Vartdalsstrand''. Førde
Førde is a former municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. It was located in the traditional district of Sunnfjord. The administrative center was the town of Førde which in 2016 had 10,255 inhabitants. Other villages in Førde municipality included Bruland, Holsen, Moskog, and Haukedalen. The Øyrane area in the town of Førde was a large industrial/commercial area for the region. The European Route E39 highway passed through the municipality, and it passed by the lake Holsavatnet. Førde Airport, Bringeland was the regional airport, located about from the town centre with flights that connect Oslo and Bergen with Førde. The airport was actually located in neighboring Gaular municipality, just south of the border. Willoch's First Cabinet
Willoch's First Cabinet was a minority, Conservative Government of Norway. It succeeded Brundtland's First Cabinet (which was a Labour government), after the Conservative victory in the 1981 Storting election; and sat from 14 October 1981 to 8 June 1983. It was replaced by Willoch's Second Cabinet, a coalition of the Conservative, Centre and Christian Democrat parties to form a majority government. Willoch's First Cabinet was the first Conservative-only cabinet since Stang's Second Cabinet of 1893–95, and there has not been another Conservative-only cabinet since.
