Helenelunds IK
Helenelunds Idrottsklubb, ''Helenelunds IK'', ''HIK'', is a sports club in Sollentuna, Sweden. The team colours are black, white and red. The club was founded in 1928 and is today most well known for its bandy team. Helenelunds home arena is Sollentunavallen, located next to the inlet Edsviken. The club was originally called ''Idrottsklubben Stjärnan'' (Sports Club Star) but changed to its present name as early as in its second year, 1929. In the 1980s and 1990s, the club played for qualification to the Swedish top-tier in bandy many times, was close sometimes but never quite made it. The club was playing in Allsvenskan, the second level bandy league in Sweden, until 2009 when it was relegated to Division 1. Season structure The season consist of six groups with ten teams each. Each team plays against the other twice, resulting in 18 rounds. The first two teams in each group qualifies for a play-off round robin tournament against the last teams of Allsvenskan. The last team in each group is relegated to the Division 2. Sollentuna Municipality ( ) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east-central Sweden, north of Stockholm. Its seat of local government is located in Tureberg, which is a part of Sollentuna urban area. Geography Sollentuna borders the municipalities of Solna, Sundbyberg, Stockholm, Järfälla, Upplands Väsby, Täby and Danderyd in clockwise order starting to the south. Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). The playing surface, called a bandy field or bandy rink, is a sheet of ice which measures 90–110 meters by 45–65 meters – about the size of a football pitch. The field is considerably larger than the ice rinks commonly used for ice hockey, rink bandy, or figure skating. Edsviken
Edsviken is an elongated, narrow inlet of the Baltic Sea running through the Swedish municipalities of Danderyd, Solna and Sollentuna in Stockholm County. Edsviken ranges from Stocksund and Bergshamra, Solna in the south to Edsberg in the north. The inlet is about long with an area of approximately ; its maximum depth is around . Edsviken joins the Stocksundet at Bergshamra and eventually flows into the Lilla Värtan . Edsviken is a popular waterway, it is used by anglers, boat owners and bathers in the summer and ice skaters in the winter. With its brackish water, the Edsviken offers a unique environment for its flora and fauna. Allsvenskan (bandy)
Allsvenskan (literally, "The All Swedish") ( sv, Allsvenskan i bandy) is since the 2007–08 the second highest level of bandy in Sweden and comprises 24 teams in two regional groups. This change was made when Allsvenskan and Elitserien were cancelled and a new top-tier called Elitserien was created. Structure During the first two years, Allsvenskan consisted of three groups with ten teams in each, i.e. a total of 30 teams. The groups were divided geographically, in Allsvenskan Norra (North), Allsvenskan Mellersta (Mid) and Allsvenskan Södra (South). For the third season, 2009–10, Allsvenskan was restructured into two groups, Norra and Södra, with 12 teams each, so there were only 24 teams left in total. Sollentuna FK is a Swedish football club located in Sollentuna, a municipality in Stockholm County. Background Sollentuna United FF was founded in 2006 with the impending merger of Turebergs IF and Edsbergs IF which became operative in the 2008 season. Turebergs IF were promoted from Division 3 Norra Svealand in 2007 after winning their promotion playoff. The previous season in 2006 they won Division 4 Stockholm Norra. The new club took the place of Turebergs IF in Division 2 Norra Svealand for the 2008 season. In 2013 Sollentuna United FF merged with Sollentuna Fotboll IF to create Sollentuna FK. Since their foundation Sollentuna FK has participated in the middle tier of the Swedish football league system.
