Helen Roden
Helen Gloria Roden (born 26 March 1986) is a professional athlete who played for college basketball club TCU Horned Frogs and for Australian rules football club Collingwood in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Early life and state football Roden was born in Fiji and moved to Melbourne at the age of one. As a teenager she played in local football clubs, including six years at Oak Park where she won the best and fairest award, but moved to basketball since there were no girls' teams after the age of 16. She played for the Victorian School girls' basketball team from 1999 to 2003 and competed for the Australian School girls' basketball team from 2000 to 2003, before graduating from Penola Catholic College in 2003. Roden returned to football in August 2016, playing the last two games of the season with VFLW club VU Western Spurs, kicking a goal in each game. NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship
The NJCAA Division I women's basketball championship is an American intercollegiate College basketball, basketball tournament conducted by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and determines the Division I women's national champion. The current champion is Northwest Florida State College who defeated Trinity Valley Community College on March 27, 2023 to capture the 2023 Championship and their second national championship. The tournament has been held since 1975. The most successful program, Trinity Valley Community College, has won the tournament eight times, including three straight championships from 2012-2015. From 1998-2014, the tournament was hosted at Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kansas. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. Originally known as the Victorian Football League (VFL), it was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football Association (VFA), with its inaugural season commencing the following year. The VFL, aiming to become a national competition, began expanding beyond Victoria to other Australian states in the 1980s, and changed its name to the AFL in 1990. Interchange (or, colloquially, the bench or interchange bench) is a team position in Australian rules football, consisting of players who are part of the selected team but are not currently on the field of play. David Rodan
David Rodan (born 8 October 1983) is an Australian rules football goal umpire and a retired professional footballer who played for the Richmond Tigers, Port Adelaide Power and the Melbourne Demons. Of Tongan heritage, Rodan is the first Fijian-born player to reach 100 AFL games. He is currently an AFL goal umpire. Early life David Rodan was born in Fiji to mother Amelia and father David Snr, both of Tongan heritage. He spent his first year in the town of Lami near Suva.
