Helen Miller (cricketer)
Helen Edith Allan (; 4 November 1915 – 10 October 1972) was a New Zealand cricketer who played as a right-arm medium bowler. She played one Test match, their first, for New Zealand as Helen Miller in 1935. This was the only official match that she played. Allan was born in East Taieri, near Dunedin, New Zealand, to orchardists Alexander and Edith Miller, and was educated at Otago Girls' High School. She was a pace bowler, and played for New Zealand against England in 1935. However, a knee injury ended her sporting career. Allan began studying geology at the University of Otago, but withdrew from her studies following her marriage to Eric Allan in 1939. The couple moved to Hamilton in 1948, and Helen Allan later completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Waikato and University of Auckland. Helen Hill Miller
Helen Hill Miller (July 29, 1899 – December 26, 1995) was a journalist and author of more than 20 books, but may be best known for her politician spouse and son. She would have become the First Lady of Virginia when her husband Francis Pickens Miller ran (unsuccessfully) in the Democratic primary in 1949 against the Byrd Organization candidate John S. Battle. In 1977, before his father's death, their son Andrew P. Miller, who served two terms as Attorney General of Virginia also lost in the Democratic gubernatorial primary (although his opponent, Henry Howell lost to Republican John N. Dalton). Helen Catherine Knapp Markley Miller (December 4, 1896 – November 1984) was an American writer of historical and biographical fiction for children taking place in the Western United States. Biography Helen Markley Miller was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In 1919 she graduated from the Iowa Teachers College in her city of birth. Subsequently, she worked as an English teacher until her marriage. She married journalist Martin Baxter Miller (May 30, 1900 – May 14, 1944), who became managing editor at the ''Idaho Statesman''.
