Helen Esuene
Helen U. Esuene (born 23 November 1949) is a former Nigerian civil servant who was appointed Minister of State for Health, and later Minister of Environment and Housing in the Cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo between 2005 and 2007. Background Esuene took a course in Confidential Secretaryship and Office Management at the Federal Training Centre in Kaduna and started her civil service career as a confidential secretary. Later she did a distance course from the University of Leicester and obtained Msc in finance. Shortly after she married the former military governor of the old Cross River State, Chief Udoakaha Esuene, who died in 1996. They had two girls and three boys. She went into business, starting with human resource management for Mobil Producing. Later she started what became Villa Marina Hotel in Eket, opening in 2000. Iyorchia Ayu
Iyorchia Ayu (born 15 November 1952) is a Nigerian politician; he is the current Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee. A former Nigerian Senator, he was elected President of the Senate during the Nigerian Third Republic (1992–1993). He later served in various ministerial positions in the Cabinet of President Olusegun Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007. Early career Ayu was born in Gboko in Benue State. He taught sociology in the University of Jos in Plateau State, including courses on the art and science of Marxism, and was the Chairman of the Jos University chapter of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Eket
Eket is one of the 31 local government areas in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The name ''Eket'' or Ekid also refers to the indigenous ethnic group of the region and to their language. The Eket people use the endonym ''Ekid'' for themselves and their language, but Europeans spell and pronounce the name as "Eket". The town itself is an industrial city that in recent years has become a conurbation joining together separate villages.
