Heini Paas
Heini Paas (6 October 1918 – 26 September 2021) was an Estonian art historian. Personal life and education Heini Rosilda Paas was born on 6 October 1918 in Mõniste Parish in Võru County. She was from a farming family. She attended Mõniste primary school followed by Valga Common Gymnasium and left in 1938. She attended the University of Tartu from 1938 until 1945, studying art history as her major subject in the Faculty of Philosophy. Voldemar Vaga was among the lecturers. In 1968, after working under the supervision of Voldemar Vaga, she was awarded a candidate's degree for her dissertation on the work of the sculptor Ferdi Sannamees. Paas turned 100 in October 2018 and died in September 2021, at the age of 102. Career and research Paas undertook research into the history of Estonian sculpture. Mõniste Parish
Mõniste Parish ( et, Mõniste vald; vro, Mõnistõ vald) was a rural municipality in Võru County, southeastern Estonia. In 2017, it merged with Rõuge Parish, Haanja Parish, Misso Parish, and Varstu Parish to create a new entity. It retained the Rõuge Parish name. Rõuge Parish ( et, Rõuge vald; vro, Rõugõ vald) is a rural municipality of Estonia, in Võru County. In 2019, it had a population of 5,427 and an area of 933 km². In 2017, it merged with Haanja Parish, Mõniste Parish, Misso Parish, and Varstu Parish to create a new entity. It retained the Rõuge Parish name. Võru County
Võru County ( et, Võru maakond or ''Võrumaa''; vro, Võro maakund) is a county in southern Estonia. It is bordered by Valga County and Põlva County and is the only Estonian county bordering two countries - Latvia (Alūksne Municipality and Ape Municipality) in the south and Russian Federation (Pskov Oblast) in the east. The territory of Võrumaa covers and is influenced by a temperate seasonal climate. In January 2013 Võru County had a population of 32,806, 2.5% of the total population in Estonia. Centenarian
A centenarian is a person who has reached the age of 100 years. Because life expectancies worldwide are below 100 years, the term is invariably associated with longevity. In 2012, the United Nations estimated that there were 316,600 living centenarians worldwide. As world population and life expectancy continue to increase, the number of centenarians is expected to increase substantially in the 21st century. According to the UK ONS, one-third of babies born in 2013 in the UK are expected to live to 100. The United Nations predicts that there are 573,000 centenarians currently, almost quadruple the 151,000 suggested in the year 2000. Tallinn Central Library (Estonian: ''Tallinna Keskraamatukogu'') is a library in Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia. The library was the first public library for a town in Estonia, and served as the nation's legal deposit library for ten years during its early existence. Art Museum Of Estonia
The Art Museum of Estonia ( et, Eesti Kunstimuuseum) was established in 1919. Originally based in Kadriorg Palace, the museum has expanded across several sites and today exhibits both international and local art works. At the end of the 1970s, in the 1980s the first branches of the Art Museum of Estonia were founded.
