Robert Heinecken (1931 – May 19, 2006) was an American artist who referred to himself as a "paraphotographer" because he so often made photographic images without a camera. Early life and education Born in Denver in 1931, Heinecken grew up in Riverside, California, the son of a Lutheran minister. He joined the Navy in 1954 and served as a fighter pilot (though too short, he passed a height test by padding his socks with paper). Heinecken later served as an officer in the Marines, discharged as a captain in 1957. Heinecken completed his bachelor's and master's degrees in art at UCLA, where he studied printmaking as well as photography. Work Heinecken was known for appropriating and re-processing images from magazines, product packaging or television. Catharina Elisabeth Heinecken
Catharina Elisabeth Heinecken (1683 – November 5, 1757) was a German artist and alchemist and the mother of a celebrated child prodigy, Christian Heinrich Heineken. Family Born in Lübeck, she was the daughter of painter Franz Oesterreich and the stepdaughter of another painter, Karl Krieg. She married the painter and architect Paul Heinecken, and they had two children: Carl Heinrich von Heineken, an art historian and collector who was later knighted, and Christian Heinrich Heineken, a child prodigy known as "the infant scholar of Lübeck" who only lived to be four years old. Heinecken painted portraits and still lifes with flowers and fruit, and she made crowns and wreaths, which she rented to wedding parties. Her portrait of her son Christian Heinrich served as the template for an engraving by Christian Fritzsch that was disseminated widely. Mickey Heinecken
Michael G. "Mickey" Heinecken (born January 25, 1939) is a former American football, lacrosse, and tennis coach. He served as the head football coach at Middlebury College from 1973 to 2000, compiling a record of 126–96–2. He has the most wins and longest tenure of any head coach in the history of the Middlebury Panthers football program. In his final season, Heinecken guided the Panthers to a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) co-championship.
