Charles Heggie
Charles Winton Heggie (26 September 1862 – 15 July 1925) was a Scottish footballer who played for Rangers, St Bernard's and the Scotland national team. He is one of just two players to have scored four goals in their only Scotland appearance. Career Heggie began his career at Govan based club ''Ailsa FC'' before joining Rangers in 1882. At Rangers he initially played as a defender but moved to a forward position for much of the 1883–84 season and finished the season as the club's top scorer with 13 goals in 30 matches. In these early years of football, with the exception of the Scottish Cup, Rangers only contested friendly matches but Heggie helped Rangers reach the Cup semi-finals, scoring in a 5–1 win against Cambuslang in the quarter-finals. The following season, he only played 7 times for Rangers, scoring 5 goals, but was a regular again in 1885–86 with 29 goals in 31 games. George Heggie (September 27, 1870 – February 21, 1953) was an Irish-born farmer and political figure in British Columbia. He represented North Okanagan in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1930 to 1933 as a Conservative. He came to Canada in 1895 as manager for Sir Arthur Stepney's ranch near Enderby. Jake Heggie (born March 31, 1961) is an American composer of opera, vocal, orchestral, and chamber music. He is best known for his operas and art songs as well as for his collaborations with internationally renowned performers and writers. Biography Childhood John ("Jake") Stephen Heggie was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, to Judith (née: Rohrbach) and John Francis Heggie, the third of four children. His father was a physician and an amateur saxophonist, and his mother was a nurse. Shortly after Heggie's birth, his family relocated to Columbus, Ohio. He began studying piano when he was seven years old. In 1972, Heggie's father committed suicide after a long battle with depression. Shortly thereafter, Heggie began writing music. Robert Andrew Heggie
Robert Andrew Heggie, (May 13, 1915 – July 23, 2000) was a lawyer, judge and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Hanley from 1967 to 1971 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Liberal. He was born in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan and was educated in Kelliher and at the Regina Normal School. Heggie taught school in Punnichy and Raymore. In 1938, he married Evelyn Rutherford. He served as a radar technician with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. Heggie then attended the University of Saskatchewan, receiving a law degree, and was called to the Saskatchewan bar in 1950. He practised law in Saskatoon and then served as a judge in the Magistrate Court. From 1954 to 1963, he was an alderman for Saskatoon. In 1963, Heggie was named Queen's Counsel.
