Heelaiy
''Heelaiy'' is a 1997 Maldivian crime thriller film directed by Ahmed Mohamed Didi. Produced by Aslam Rasheed under Slam Studio, the film stars Reeko Moosa Manik and Aishath Shiranee in lead roles. It is an unofficial remake of Abbas–Mustan's Bollywood film '' Baazigar'' (1993) starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Dalip Tahil in the pivotal roles which was loosely based on Ira Levin's 1953 novel '' A Kiss Before Dying'' and its 1991 film adaptation of the same name. Premise Shah Naseer (Reeko Moosa Manik) is an intellectual young man determined to avenge his father's death caused by Afeef (Mohamed Waheed), a wealthy businessman. Shah begins a romantic relationship with Afeef's eldest daughter, Aishath Naazleen (Aishath Shiranee). She decides to marry him on the sly since she is terrified of her father's anger. Aishath Shiranee
Aishath Shiranee (born 16 January 1975) is a Maldivian former film actress. Shiranee is the recipient of several awards, including one Gaumee Film Award and three Aafathis Awards. In 2001, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Career While working in a job at Maldives Customs Service, Shiranee made her screen debut with a video single titled "Hithaa Roohun Asaru Kuranee" alongside Ahmed Ghiyas which was followed by several other video songs before making her film debut with the film ''Naseebu'' (1992). Ibrahim Wisan
Ibrahim Wisan (born 27 February 1977), nicknamed as Kandi is a Maldivian cinematographer, actor and director. Career In 1996, Wisan starred in Mohamed Rasheed's '' Hifehettumeh Neiy Karuna'' opposite Niuma Mohamed, Abdul Raheem and Arifa Ibrahim. He again collaborated with Arifa Ibrahim for her drama film '' Dhauvaa'', an unofficial remake of Deepak Sareen's Bollywood film '' Aaina'' (1993), where he reprised the role played by Deepak Tijori in the original. After working as a cinematographer in Easa Shareef's horror classic '' Fathis Handhuvaru'' (1997), Wisan was offered the role behind camera for several other films. Arifa Ibrahim
Arifa Ibrahim (born 22 June 1955) is a Maldivian actress, producer, director and writer. Early life Daughter of late Ibrahim Fulhu and late Fathma Fulhu, Arifa Ibrahim was born on 22 June 1955. Umar Zahir
Umar Zahir (22 November 1963) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Zahir began his career as a musician by joining several music bands in performing at resorts and events. It was then his talent was identified by music composers and producers, where he was offered to lend his voice for several of their compositions. His album series ''Hanhaara'' became a record-breaking album and its songs including "Erey Haadha Rueemey" and "Mooney Thee Hiyy Edhey" became chartbusters upon release. Ismail Wajeeh
Ismail Wajeeh (20 September 1962) is a Maldivian actor and choreographer. Early life While studying in primary school, Wajeeh, along with his nephews used to perform songs and stage shows to small gatherings. While studying in grade 4, he was offered to be part of an English radio drama produced by the Voice of Maldives, titled "The Enormous Turnip". During his secondary education, he played small roles in stage dramas as an extra. In 1982, he got offered by the leading theatre performing group, Cultural and Drama Society (CDS) to be part of their group. Ali Shameel is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career In 1986, Shameel took part in a stage-play titled CDS-6, alongside Kashima Shakir, Mohamed Rasheed and Chilhiya Moosa Manik which was appreciated among the audience and he continues to feature in several other stage dramas. Moosa Manik commonly known as Chilhiya Moosa Manik (30 January 1940 – 24 August 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and writer. Early life In 1977, while studying at Majeediyya School, Manik participated in the theatre play performed to celebrate the Golden jubilee of Majeediyya School. He then joined several other theatre performances as a hobby though his first priority lies in sketching and drawing, followed by writing. His most notable performance as a theatre artist includes his role as Viyazor; the administrative chief of the Portuguese kingdom who invaded and ruled over Maldives. Sofa Thowfeek commonly spelled as Sofa Thaufeeq (11 August 1967) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Sofa Thaufeeq was born on 11 August 1967.
