Heegan FC
Heegan FC (formerly Somali Police FC until 2013) is a Somali football club based in Horseed, a district of Merca. History The club was founded in the Port of Merca in 1950 by descendants of Italian colonists in Merca during the ONU mandate. They have won the Somalia League in its inaugural year in 1967, and again in 2014/15. The team is based in the rebuilt Banadir Stadium. Banadir Stadium
The Eng. Yariisow Stadium, formerly known as Garoonka Banaadir Stadium, or simply Benadir Stadium in the Somali language, is a multi-use 20,000-capacity stadium in Mogadishu, Banaadir, Somalia, that is currently used mostly for football matches. Until the 1970s, the stadium was called the ''Coni Stadium'' because it was built by the Italian Coni. It is currently being rebuilt through FIFA's Win in Africa with Africa program. The Somali First Division ( so, Heerka Koowaad ee Soomaali), Somali League, or Somali Premier League, is the Somali professional league for men's association football. It has been active for over 50 years, having been established in 1967. Somalia has 10 professional clubs playing for the Somali First Division. Football is the most popular sport in Somalia.
