John Clifford Heed
John Clifford Heed (1862–1908) was an American composer and musician, best known for composing over 60 marches. Early life and education Born in Hackettstown, New Jersey, on April 23, 1862, Heed began his musical career with the Hackettstown Cornet Band by the age of 11. By the time he reached the age of 17 he was the leader of this band and he had mastered with astonishing rapidity the intricacies of harmony and counterpoint. He became proficient on the piano and violin, and could play most band instruments. Career In 1882 Heed had the opportunity to travel with a noted English orchestra through the United States. The cornetist that had come with the orchestra became ill and was sent back to England. Heed was highly recommended and was engaged to fill the cornetist's place. Kash P. Heed (Kashmir Singh Heed) (born November 1955) is a former Canadians, Canadian politician, who was elected as a BC Liberal Member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2009 British Columbia general election, 2009 provincial election, representing the riding of Vancouver-Fraserview. He formerly served as the Executive Council of British Columbia, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General. He was formerly chief constable of the West Vancouver Police Department and a former superintendent with the Vancouver Police Department and was the first Indo-Canadian police chief in Canada. Tim Heed (born January 27, 1991) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing with HC Ambrì-Piotta of the National League (ice hockey), National League (NL). Heed was originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks 132nd overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Heed was a product of Södertälje SK and made his debut in the top-tier Swedish Hockey League (SHL) with the club during the 2009–10 season. Heed (band)
Heed was a Swedish heavy metal band founded in 2004 by ex-Lost Horizon members Daniel Heiman (vocals) and Fredrik Olsson (guitar). They were joined by drummer Mats Karlsson and bass player Jörgen Olsson, and began recording on their debut album ''The Call''. It was released in Japan on October 21, 2005 and in Europe on 14 June 2006. When ''The Call'' was completed, Jörgen and Mats left Heed because their musical visions and goals collided with those of the founding members. Fredrik and Daniel started looking for new members and soon found Tommy Larsson (bass) and Ufuk Demir (drums). They also added a second guitarist, Martin Andersson. USS ''Heed'' (AM-100) was an built for the United States Navy during World War II. She earned five battle stars for her World War II service. She was recommissioned during the Korean War. She was placed in reserve in 1954 and remained there until struck from the Naval Vessel Register in 1967. Career ''Heed'' was launched 19 June 1942 by the General Engineering & Dry Dock Company of Alameda, California; and commissioned 27 February 1943.
