Hedvig Ulfsparre
Hedvig Hedvig Siriane Emilia Ulfsparre (1877–1963) was a Swedish textile collector in Hofors, Gävleborg County, who brought together thousands of artefacts consisting of lace, embroidery, tapestries, and rugs, creating Sweden's largest collection. Many of the works were created by the country's top textile artists including Märta Måås-Fjetterström, Margareta Grandin, Thyra Grafström, Maja Sjöström Maria (Maja) Sjöström (1868–1961) was a prominent Swedish textile artist from the 1890s to the 1930s. Gävleborg County ( sv, Gävleborgs län) is a county or '' län'' on the Baltic Sea coast of Sweden. It borders the counties of Uppsala, Västmanland, Dalarna, Jämtland and Västernorrland. Märta Måås-Fjetterström
Märta Livia Vilhelmina Måås-Fjetterström (21 June 1873 – 13 April 1941) was a leading Swedish textile artist in the early 20th-century. She is remembered in particular for the weaving studio she opened in Båstad in 1919 and for the decorative rugs she produced from the 1910s to the 1930s, increasingly combining rural Nordic traditions with modernist trends. Her works are exhibited in some of the world's most important art museums, including New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and London's Victoria and Albert Museum. Thyra Grafström
Inga Thyra Carola Grafström (1 November 1864 – 16 April 1925) was a Swedish textile artist. Thyra Boklund was born in Stockholm, one of seven children of Johan Christoffer Boklund, and Johanna Carola, née Stuttgardter. Her father was a painter and a curator at the national museum, and several of her siblings followed artistic careers. She married , an opera singer, in 1891, and their son Bo was born in 1896. She attended the technical college which is now Konstfack and also studied painting under Kerstin Cardon. In 1882 she worked for the association ''Handarbetets vänner'' (Friends of Handicraft), which promoted Swedish textile design. She opened her textile atelier in 1897 in Stockholm's Birger Jarlsgatan, and in 1898, now employing 60 people, moved it into the new department store opened by K.M. Maja Sjöström
Maria (Maja) Sjöström (1868–1961) was a prominent Swedish textile artist from the 1890s to the 1930s. In particular, she designed intricate interior decorations for the new Stockholm City Hall. These included enormous silk tapestries which were woven at the Tessiture Luigi Bevilacqua, Luigi Bevilacqua Textile Company in Venice. Following the opening of the city hall in 1923, Sjöström moved to Rome where she spent the rest of her life, ultimately in poverty, dismissed by the Swedes for her belief in Mussolini.
