Heavy (film)
''Heavy'' is a 1995 American Drama (film and television), drama film written and directed by James Mangold, in his directorial debut. It stars Liv Tyler, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Shelley Winters, and Debbie Harry, Deborah Harry. The plot focuses on an unhappy overweight cook (Vince) whose life is changed after an enchanting college drop-out (Tyler) begins working as a waitress at his and his mother's roadside tavern. The film explores themes of loneliness, false hope, unrequited love, and self-esteem, self-worth. Mangold wrote the screenplay for ''Heavy'' while attending filmmaking seminars at Columbia University, and partly based it on real people he knew while growing up in upstate New York. Evan Griffith Dando (born March 4, 1967) is an American musician and frontman of the Lemonheads. He has also embarked on a solo career and collaborated on songs with various artists. In December 2015 Dando was inducted into the Boston Music Awards Hall of Fame. Biography Early life and education Dando was born in Essex, Massachusetts, on Boston's North Shore, to Susan, a former fashion model, and Jeffrey, who worked as a real estate attorney. James Allen Mangold (born December 16, 1963) is an American filmmaker. Barryville is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Highland, Sullivan County, New York, United States. Previously known as "The River," the hamlet was renamed for William T.
