"Heavenward" is a song by English alternative rock band Wolf Alice from their second studio album, ''Visions of a Life''. It was released on 18 September 2017 through Dirty Hit as the album's fourth single. Writing and recording In a track by track breakdown for '' Consequence of Sound'', drummer Joel Amey said: "I feel like "Heavenward" was one of the first ideas we really got to grips with; we have a few demo versions floating around, one of which was made in our manager's office basement and from which the opening build up noise is lifted. That passage always set such a mood and tone and for me that I couldn't have imagined it as anything other than the opener. The guitars are so dense and there are so many nuances that we had to think carefully about how the sonics of the other instruments should sit; we wanted to avoid classic 'radio rock' drums and keep them almost small in size to really push the walls of guitar noise. ''Visions of a Life'' is the second studio album by English alternative rock band Wolf Alice, released on 29 September 2017 through Dirty Hit. The album received acclaim from music critics and appeared on several year-end lists, as well as winning the 2018 Mercury Prize. Background and release In November 2016, drummer Joel Amey said the band is "very much in the middle of writing some new music." In May 2017, the band teased the album by sending mysterious postcards with song titles and lyrics of each of the album tracks to fans on their mailing list, which they later posted on Twitter. Wolf Alice are an English rock band from London, England. Formed in 2010 as an acoustic duo comprising singer Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, Wolf Alice have also featured bassist Theo Ellis and drummer Joel Amey since 2012. Wolf Alice played their first gig at Highbury Garage, December 2010 supporting April in the Shade, after Rowsell and Oddie met the band at an open mic at the Hope and Anchor, Islington. They released their debut single " Fluffy" in February 2013 and followed it with " Bros" in May. They released their debut EP '' Blush'' in October, and its follow-up '' Creature Songs'' in May 2014. "Beautifully Unconventional" is a song by English alternative rock band Wolf Alice from their second studio album, ''Visions of a Life''. It was released on 14 August 2017 through Dirty Hit as the album's third single. Release and live performances "Beautifully Unconventional" premiered on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show on 14 August 2017, and subsequently released for digital download and streaming services. Rowsell said she wrote the song about one of her friends: "My feelings towards her reminded me of the film ''Heathers'', where everyone is a Heather and you find your other non-Heather… a 'you can be my partner in crime', sorta thing." WKQX (101.1 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Chicago, Illinois, featuring an alternative rock format known as "Q101". Owned by Cumulus Media, the station serves the Chicago metropolitan area. WKQX's studios are located in the NBC Tower, while the station transmitter is located atop the John Hancock Center. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WKQX broadcasts over two HD Radio channels, and is available online.
