Heatworld
''Heat'' is an English entertainment magazine published by Bauer Media Group. Its mix of celebrity news, gossip, beauty advice and fashion is primarily aimed at women, although not as directly as in other women's magazines. It also features movie and music reviews, TV listings and major celebrity interviews. History ''Heat'' was launched in February 1999 as a general interest entertainment magazine, at a cost of more than £4m. However, unlike other Emap (now Bauer) magazine launches before and after, it was not an immediate success, with a circulation below 100,000. A series of revamps quickly repositioned the magazine as a less serious, more gossip-oriented magazine aimed at women, and circulation quickly grew. A series of high-profile celebrity relationships, such as Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt provided ample material, while reality shows such as ''Big Brother (UK), Big Brother'' and ''Pop Idol'' grew popular at just the right time to help fill pages. Heat Radio
Heat Radio is a British digital radio station, owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Kiss Network. It broadcasts online to the UK and on Digital Radio in Inverness. As of September 2022, the station has a weekly audience of 456,000 listeners according to RAJAR. History Heat Radio launched in 2003 as a non-stop music station broadcasting from London, where it was located alongside the sister magazine. In 2007 the station re-launched with presenters and showbiz news throughout the day. In 2009, Heat moved to Bauer Radio's studios in Castlefield, Manchester, as part of a cost-cutting programme, to be based alongside sister radio stations Key 103 and The Hits Radio, where music and entertainment news output would be sourced. That same year, the station, along with The Hits Radio, Smash Hits Radio, Q Radio and Kerrang Radio, were removed from Sky, Virgin Media and UPC Ireland, due to cost-cutting measures with Bauer Radio, BSkyB and Liberty Global. Lucie Cave
Lucie Cave is the Editor in Chief of ''Heat'' magazine and the Heat brand (spanning heat radio, heatworld.com and heat TV). She graduated with a 2:1 in English Literature from the University of Sheffield in 1995, where she was the editor of the University newspaper ''Darts.'' Her career started with Trouble TV. Publications On 25 May 2014, Hodder published Joey Essex's number one selling ghost-written autobiography called ''Joey Essex: Being Reem'', written by and dedicated to Lucie Cave. On 2 May 2006 she also ghost-wrote the HarperCollins published Jade Goody's autobiography titled ''Jade: My Autobiography'', dedicated to Cave. She also wrote Abi Titmuss' book - released in spring 2008. Broadcasting Cave has appeared on numerous TV shows as a presenter and media pundit. Mark Frith
Mark Frith (born 22 May 1970, in Sheffield) is a British journalist and editor. He has been a writer and editor for magazines such as ''Smash Hits'', '' Time Out'' and ''Heat''. He has since branched into TV and radio presenting and is an author of novels. Background Mark Frith was born in Sheffield in 1970. He attended Gleadless Valley Secondary Comprehensive School in Norton, Sheffield, before going on to study at the University of East London, where he edited the college magazine ''Overdraft''. Box Television
The Box Plus Network (formerly Video Jukebox Network International Ltd and Box Television Ltd) was a British television company owned by Channel Four Television Corporation, it specialised in music programming. On 2 April 2013, all The Box Plus Network channels went free-to-air on satellite, apart from 4Music which went free-to-view. On 8 January 2019, Channel 4 acquired Bauer Media Group's 50% stake in the company to take full ownership of The Box Plus Network.
