Heatter-Quigley Productions was an American television production company that was launched in 1960 by two former television writers, Merrill Heatter and Bob Quigley. After Quigley's retirement, the company became Merrill Heatter Productions. ''Hot Seat'' is an American game show which aired on American Broadcasting Company, ABC from July 12 to October 22, 1976. The series was created by Heatter-Quigley Productions, Merrill Heatter and Robert Quigley, who were known at this point for their hit game shows ''Gambit (game show), Gambit'' and ''Hollywood Squares, The Hollywood Squares'' among others. Jim Peck was the host, with Kenny Williams (announcer), Kenny Williams as the announcer. Game play Two married couples played against each other one at a time. One of the spouses had to guess what the other would say when asked a round of three questions. ''Wacky Races'' is an American animated television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for CBS on Saturday mornings. The series features 11 different cars racing against each other in various road rallies throughout North America, with all of the drivers hoping to win the title of the "World's Wackiest Racer". The show was inspired by the 1965 comedy film ''The Great Race''. The cartoon had many regular characters, with 23 people and animals spread among the 11 race cars. ''Wacky Races'' ran Saturday mornings on CBS from September 14, 1968, to January 4, 1969, and in syndication from 1976 to 1982. ''Battlestars'' is an American game show that aired on NBC during the 1980s. The program's concept was developed and produced by Merrill Heatter, featuring a six-celebrity panel. The object of the game is to "capture" the celebrities by lighting up numbers positioned around triangle shapes, inside of which sat each panelist. Similar to ''Hollywood Squares'', which Heatter also co-created and produced, the celebrities are asked questions by the host, and the contestants judge the truth of their answers in order to light up the numbers. The show premiered on October 26, 1981, with Alex Trebek hosting and Rod Roddy serving as the announcer.
