Heaton is a populated place situated in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. Originally called Maricopa Station, it served as a stop on the railroad line, where passengers transferred to stagecoach. The post office at this location was simply named Maricopa. During a land boom in the late 1880s, it was thought that this stop would become a railway stop on the line directly connecting to Phoenix. Heaton Park is a public park in Manchester, England, covering an area of over . The park includes the grounds of a Grade I listed, neoclassical 18th century country house, Heaton Hall. The hall, remodelled by James Wyatt in 1772, is now only open to the public on an occasional basis as a museum and events venue. Heaton Park was sold to Manchester City Council in 1902 by the Earl of Wilton. It has one of the United Kingdom's few concrete towers, the Heaton Park BT Tower. Heaton is a small village and civil parish in Staffordshire, England. It is about north of Leek and about south of Macclesfield. The village of Heaton is situated near the centre of the civil parish. The River Dane is the northern boundary with Cheshire; the civil parishes of Rushton and Leekfrith are to the west and east. Sir Robert Heaton Rhodes (27 February 1861 – 30 July 1956), usually known as Sir Heaton Rhodes, was a New Zealand politician and lawyer. Life Rhodes was born in Purau on Banks Peninsula, the son of sheep farmer and politician Robert Heaton Rhodes. He went to England to attend Hereford Cathedral School and then studied at Brasenose College, Oxford, from which he graduated in 1884. He was called to the bar by the Inner Temple in 1887. He then returned to New Zealand, joined the New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade, and served in the Second Boer War in 1902 with the 8th New Zealand Contingent. He later went on to command the 1st Mounted Rifles in the New Zealand Territorial Force. After retirement he was Honorary Colonel of the 1st Mounted Rifles.
