Heath Baldwin
Heath Baldwin (born February 8, 2001) is an American decathlete. Early life He is from Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he attended Hackett Catholic Prep High School. The youngest of four siblings, he was a keen baseball player before focusing on track and field after being persuaded to try it by his strength and conditioning coach. He also played American football and basketball to all-state standard. He initially competed for the Michigan Wolverines track and field team before later transferring to Michigan State University. Career He was runner up to Leo Neugebauer at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships heptathlon in March 2024 in Boston, Massachusetts. In the outdoor season in 2024, Baldwin skipped the regional and national collegiate trials to focus on the Olympic trials. 2024 United States Olympic Trials (track And Field)
The 2024 United States Olympic trials for track and field will be staged at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Organized by USA Track and Field, the ten-day competition will last from June 21 to 30 and will serve as the national championships in track and field for the United States. Leo Neugebauer
Leo Neugebauer (born 19 June 2000) is a German multi-event track and field athlete. He is the German record holder in the decathlon and indoor heptathlon and Olympic silver medalist in the decathlon, having placed second at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Early life Neugebauer was born in Görlitz and grew up in Stuttgart from the age of six weeks onwards. His mother, Diana, is from Germany, and his father, Terrance, is a soccer player from Cameroon. He has one sister. Neugebauer joined the athletics club LG Leinfelden-Echterdingen, south of Stuttgart. He moved to the University of Texas in the United States on a sport scholarship to initially study mechanical engineering in 2019, but later switched to economics.
