	Heart Of Virginia ''Heart of Virginia'' is a 1948 American sports drama film directed by R. G. Springsteen and starring Janet Martin, Robert Lowery and Frankie Darro.Martin p.76 Believing that he is responsible for the death of a fellow rider, a jockey develops a fear of the racetrack. The film's art direction was by Frank Arrigo. Plot Racehorse owner Whit Galtry wants his horse Virginia's Pride to win so he can buy a new automobile for his daughter Virginia. He pressures jockey Jimmy Easter to do whatever it takes to finish first, but Jimmy inadvertently causes an accident that results in the death of another horse's rider. A distraught Jimmy quits racing. Virginia's horse interests wealthy stable owner Dan Lockwood, who soon demonstrates an interest in her as well. Jimmy reluctantly trains and rides the horse, but when Virginia's Pride is injured, her father beats Jimmy with a whip. 	Edmund Cobb Edmund Fessenden Cobb (June 23, 1892 – August 15, 1974) was an American actor who appeared in more than 620 films between 1912 and 1966. Biography Cobb was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of William Henry Cobb and Eddie (Edmundie) Ross. His maternal grandfather, Edmund G. Ross, was a newspaper editor, a governor of the New Mexico territory, a senator from Kansas, and a leader in the abolitionist movement in the United States. Despite his grandfather's efforts to lead Cobb into a career in politics, an initial effort in acting in a locally produced play turned him in that direction for a career. 	Glen Vernon Glen Vernon (born Glenn Vernon; October 27, 1923 – October 27, 1999) was an American actor. Glenn Vernon hailed from Fall River, Massachusetts, and pursued a dramatic career upon graduation from high school. He used his given name of Glenn Vernon until 1950, when he adopted "Glen Vernon" as his professional name.
