Health Level Seven International (HL7) is a non-profit ANSI-accredited standards development organization that develops standards that provide for global health data interoperability. The 2.x versions of the standards are the most commonly used in the world. Arden Syntax
Arden syntax is a markup language used for representing and sharing medical knowledge. This clinical and scientific knowledge language is used in an executable format by clinical decision support systems to generate alerts, interpretations, and to screen and manage messages to clinicians. This syntax is used to share medical knowledge within and across many health service institutions. Rule sets, called Medical Logic Modules (MLMs), comprise enough logic to make a single medical decision. Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) is a non-profit organization based in the US state of Illinois. Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) is the standard for the communication and management of medical imaging information and related data. The Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) is a standards developing organization (SDO) dealing with medical research data linked with healthcare, to "enable information system interoperability to improve medical research and related areas of healthcare".
