Heads Of Government Of Mali
This is a list of prime ministers of Mali since the country gained independence from France in 1960 to the present day. A total of seventeen people have served as Prime Minister of Mali (not counting five acting prime ministers). Additionally, one person, Modibo Keita, served on two non-consecutive occasions. The current Interim Prime Minister of Mali is Lieutenant Colonel Abdoulaye Maïga, since 21 August 2022. He was appointed by the National Committee for the Salvation of the People, which has governed the country since the 2021 Malian coup d'état. Emblem Of Mali
The emblem of Mali is a national emblem consisting of a circle Charge (heraldry), charged with a bird at the top, a mosque in the centre flanked by two Bow and arrow, bows and arrows, and the Sunrise, rising sun at the bottom. Adopted thirteen years after the country gained independence, it has been the Seal (emblem), seal of the Republic of Mali since 1973. It is utilized on official documents as a coat of arms. History Mali gained independence in August 1960, when it separated from Senegal and became an independent country on its own, thus dissolving the short-lived Mali Federation that had unified the two nations. A seal for Mali was designed soon afterwards, which is almost identical to the current seal save for the colour scheme. It featured a red circle surrounded by a green border. Abdoulaye Sékou Sow
Abdoulaye Sékou Sow (1931 – 27 May 2013) was a Malian politician who served as Prime Minister of Mali from 12 April 1993 to 4 February 1994 under President Alpha Oumar Konaré. Career Sow was director of the ''École Nationale d'Administration''. He was a founding member of the Alliance for Democracy in Mali-African Party for Solidarity and Justice (ADEMA-Pasj). President Konaré appointed him as Minister of Defense and Prime Minister in 1993. He held this post from April 1993 to February 1994. Alpha Oumar Konaré
Alpha Oumar Konaré (born 2 February 1946) is a Malian politician, who served as President of Mali for two five-year terms from 1992 to 2002 and was Chairperson of the African Union Commission from 2003 to 2008. Scholarly career Alpha Oumar Konaré, fourth son of a Fula homemaker, was born in Kayes, Mali, where he went to primary school. Amadou Toumani Touré
Amadou Toumani Touré (4 November 19489 November 2020) was a Malian politician. He supervised Mali's first multiparty elections as chairman of the transitional government (1991–1992), and later became the second democratically-elected President of Mali (2002–2012). Touré was head of President Moussa Traoré's personal guard (and parachute regiment) when a popular revolution overthrew the regime in March 1991; Colonel Touré then arrested the President and led the revolution onward. He presided over a year-long military-civilian transition process that produced a new Constitution and multiparty elections, then handed power to Mali's first democratically-elected president, Alpha Oumar Konaré, on 6 June 1992. Dr. Soumana Sacko (born 23 December 1950) is a Malian politician and economist. Sacko served as Prime Minister from 9 April 1991 to 9 June 1992 during the first and transitional presidency of Amadou Toumani Touré. Education Sacko obtained a Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française (DELF) from the Mopti Examination Center in June 1967 and a baccalaureate in June 1970 from the Lycée Askia Mohamed in Bamako. Mamadou Dembelé
Mamadou Dembelé (21 January 1934 – 9 October 2016) was a Malian physician and politician. Dembelé served as List of prime ministers of Mali, Prime Minister of Mali from 6 June 1986 to 6 June 1988 under President Moussa Traoré. He was a member of the Democratic Union of the Malian People and responsible for the repression of the 1979–80 student movements. He died on 9 October 2016 at the age of 82. Dembélé was to have a state funeral at the paternal home in Darsalam, followed by interment at the cemetery of Hamdallaye on Tuesday 11 October 2016. References

Moussa Traoré
Moussa Traoré (25 September 1936 – 15 September 2020) was a Malian soldier, politician, and dictator who was President of Mali from 1968 to 1991. As a Lieutenant, he led the military ousting of President Modibo Keïta in 1968. Thereafter he served as head of state until March 1991, when he was overthrown by popular protests and a military coup. He was twice condemned to death in the 1990s, but eventually pardoned on both occasions and freed in 2002. He retired from public life and died in 2020. Early life Born in Kayes Region, Traoré studied at Kita and at the military academy in Fréjus, France. He returned to Mali in 1960, after its 1959 independence.
