Headgear (band)
Headgear is a musical project of the Dublin-born musician and producer Daragh Dukes and several other collaborators and fellow producers. Musically, it can perhaps best be described as a collage of electronica and rock. ''Where This Good Life Goes'', a 6 track mini-album, was released in October 2002 on Diamond Head Recordings. The eponymous album, ''Headgear'', featuring the singles ''Singin' in The Drain'' and ''Halibut'', was released in 2004, on Dukes' own Marthadigs label, to critical acclaim. Irish music magazine Hot Press called it "''a beguiling marriage of bedsit melancholia with laboratory electronica and quite the chamber-pop pocket symphony''". The album ''Flight Cases'' was released in early 2007, including ''Harry Truman'' and ''Mister Petit'' both of which featured on prominent ''best of 2007'' Irish song lists. Limerick
Limerick ( ; ga, Luimneach ) is a western city in Ireland situated within County Limerick. It is in the province of Munster and is located in the Mid-West which comprises part of the Southern Region. Pat Shortt
Patrick Shortt (born 12 December 1967) is an Irish actor, comedian, writer and entertainer. His role in the 2007 film ''Garage'' led to him receiving the IFTA for Best Actor. Career Shortt toured alongside Jon Kenny as comedy duo D'Unbelievables. They released "One Hell of a Video", "D'Unbelievables", "D'Video" (a live random sketch show), "D'Telly" (featuring Shortt and Kenny playing various characters – primarily two brothers who run a shop together), "D'Mother" (in which Kenny's character oversaw the running of a public house alongside his "mother" – who was later revealed to be his father, in a role played by Shortt) and "D'collection". One character played by Shortt was Dan Clancy, known for telling "his stories". The pair were highly successful in Ireland, selling out the Vicar Street venue for 14 weeks. The Cranberries
The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland. Originally named the Cranberry Saw Us, the band were formed in 1989 by lead singer Niall Quinn, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. Quinn was replaced as lead singer by Dolores O'Riordan in 1990 and they changed their name to the Cranberries. The band classified themselves as an alternative rock group, but incorporated aspects of indie rock, jangle pop, folk rock, post-punk and pop rock into their sound. The Cranberries rose to international fame in the 1990s with their debut album, ''Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?'', which became a commercial success.
