Head Games (novel)
''Head Games'' is an original novel written by Steve Lyons and based on the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. It features the Seventh Doctor, Bernice, Chris, Roz, Mel and Ace. ''Head Games'' is a sequel to Lyons' earlier ''New Adventure'' '' Conundrum'', and again features the Land of Fiction first seen the 1968 serial ''The Mind Robber''. ''Head Games'' continues a theme running through the ''New Adventures'' starting from '' Timewyrm: Revelation'' in which the Doctor becomes Time's Champion, and that previous incarnations still in some sense exist within his mind. This novel suggests that the Seventh Doctor was somehow able to terminate the life of his previous incarnation on Lakertya (in the story ''Time and the Rani'') in order to become Time's Champion. The Trial Of A Time Lord
The twenty-third season of British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', known collectively as ''The Trial of a Time Lord'', aired in weekly episodes from 6 September to 6 December 1986. It contained four adventures: ''The Mysterious Planet'', ''Mindwarp'', ''Terror of the Vervoids'' and ''The Ultimate Foe''; the season also marked the final regular appearance of Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor. The idea for the serial stemmed from several production changes to ''Doctor Who'', such as reduced screen time for the season and an instruction from BBC1 controller Michael Grade that the series needed to contain less violence and more humour. Several problems occurred during production, including the death of scriptwriter Robert Holmes and the resignation of script editor Eric Saward. Valeyard
The Valeyard () is a fictional character from the long-running British science fiction television series, ''Doctor Who''. He is described by the Master as an amalgamation of the Doctor's darker sides from between his twelfth and final incarnations. In the story ''The Trial of a Time Lord'', comprising the whole of Season 23, the High Council of the Time Lords appoint the Valeyard as prosecutor at the Sixth Doctor's trial, hoping to have him executed and thereby remove the sole witness to their near destruction of life on Earth. Sixth Doctor
The Sixth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. He is portrayed by Colin Baker. Although his televisual time on the series was comparatively brief and turbulent, Baker has continued as the Sixth Doctor in Big Finish's range of original ''Doctor Who'' audio adventures. Within the series' narrative, the Doctor is a centuries-old alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who travels in time and space in the TARDIS, frequently with companions. At the end of life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, the physical appearance and personality of the Doctor changes. ''Time and the Rani'' is the first serial of the 24th season of the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast in four weekly parts from 7 to 28 September 1987. The Mind Robber
''The Mind Robber'' is the second serial of the sixth season of the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast in five weekly parts from 14 September to 12 October 1968.
