He Zhenliang
He Zhenliang (; 29 December 1929 – 4 January 2015) was a Chinese politician and diplomat. He served as vice-president of the International Olympic Committee, the chairman of the International Olympic Committee's Culture and Olympic Education Commission, the president of the Chinese Olympic Committee and an executive of the Organizing Committee for the 2008 Summer Olympics. He was born in Wuxi in Jiangsu Province, but his father's family came from Shangyu in Zhejiang Province. In 1938 he and his families moved into the Shanghai French Concession where he attended a school run by French Jesuits. In 1946–1950 he studied electric mechanics at the Aurora University in Shanghai. Upon graduation in 1950, he worked for the Foreign Liaison Department of the central committee of the Communist Youth League of China. The International Olympic Committee (IOC; french: link=no, Comité international olympique, ''CIO'') is a non-governmental sports organisation based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is constituted in the form of an association under the Swiss Civil Code (articles 60–79). The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC, zh, 中国人民政治协商会议), also known as the People's PCC (, ) or simply the PCC (), is a political advisory body in the People's Republic of China and a central part of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s United Front system.
