He Ping (; born 1957 in Shanxi) is a Chinese film director, screenwriter and producer whose main filmography consists of a hybrid genre of Western-wuxia movies. He made three movies along this genre - '' Swordsmen in Double Flag Town'' (1991), '' Sun Valley'' (1995) and ''Warriors of Heaven and Earth'' (2004). Personal life and background He Ping's mother was the female lead in Communist China's first feature film ''Bridge'' (1949). She was an ethnic Manchu whose ancestors were members of the Blue Banners, while He Ping's father was Han Chinese. Ho Ping
Ho Ping (; born 1958) is a Taiwanese film director. Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, he studied chemical engineering at Tunghai University before moving to the United States to earn an MFA from Syracuse University. Upon graduation, Ho returned to Taiwan in 1987 and released his directorial debut, ''The Digger'' (''Yin jian xiang ma'') (1988). The next year, he won the Special Jury Prize at the 25th Golden Horse Awards with ''The Suona Player'' (''Chui gu chui'', also known as ''For whom the Suona Blows''). Both ''The Digger'' and ''The Suona Player'' were film adaptions of short stories written by Wang Ben-hu. The Hawai'i International Film Festival (HIFF) is an annual film festival held in the United States state of Hawaii. Kawashima Yoshiko (1989 Film)
was a Qing dynasty princess of the Aisin-Gioro clan. She was raised in Japan and served as a spy for the Japanese Kwantung Army and Manchukuo during the Second Sino-Japanese War. She is sometimes known in fiction under the pseudonym "Eastern Mata Hari". After the war, she was captured, tried, and executed as a traitor by the Nationalist government of the Republic of China. The 40th annual Toronto International Film Festival was held from 10 to 20 September 2015. On 28 July 2015 the first wave of films to be screened at the Festival was announced. Jiang Wen (born 5 January 1963) is a Chinese actor, screenwriter, and director. As a director, he is sometimes grouped with the "Sixth Generation" that emerged in the 1990s. The , also sometimes called YIFFF, is held in a resort-like environment in the small town of Yūbari on the northernmost Japanese island of Hokkaidō.
