Hazelridge is a community in the Rural Municipality of Springfield, Manitoba. Services available in Hazelridge include an elementary school and a sports complex. Hazelridge is the self-proclaimed " Perogy capital of Canada" as stated on a large sign at the entrance to the community. History It is first noted as a Post Office in 1904 and located on NW 25-11-6E.. It moved to 33-11-6E near the CPR station which was built in 1907. The Post Office took the name of Klondyke in 1909 and closed in 1915. Rural Municipality Of Springfield
Springfield is a rural municipality (RM) in Manitoba, Canada. It stretches from urban industrial development on the eastern boundary of the City of Winnipeg, through urban, rural residential, agricultural and natural landscapes, to the Agassiz Provincial Forest on the municipality's eastern boundary. Birds Hill Provincial Park nestles into the north-western corner of Springfield. Springfield's population was 16,142 as of the 2021 census, making it the second most populous RM in the province (slightly behind the RM of Hanover) and fifth most populous municipality overall (behind the cities of Winnipeg, Brandon, and Steinbach, and RM of Hanover). Area code 204 is one of the original North American area codes assigned in 1947, and 431 and 584 are area codes that overlay the entire numbering plan area (NPA). The incumbent local exchange carrier for the area codes is Bell MTS. In 2009, the Canadian Numbering Administrator forecast that area code 204 would be exhausted within a few years even though there are only 1.2 million people in the entire province. Hutterite Colony
Hutterites (german: link=no, Hutterer), also called Hutterian Brethren (German: ), are a communal ethnoreligious group, ethnoreligious branch of Anabaptism, Anabaptists, who, like the Amish and Mennonites, trace their roots to the Radical Reformation of the early 16th century and have formed intentional communities. The founder of the Hutterites, Jacob Hutter, "established the Hutterite colonies on the basis of the Schleitheim Confession, a classic Anabaptist statement of faith" of 1527, and the first communes were formed in 1528.
