Hayvi Bouzo
Hayvi Bouzo ( ar, هيفي بوظو) is a Syrian-born American broadcast journalist, columnist and television presenter of Kurdish descent. She is a co-founder of Yalla Productions and host of ‘Yalla’ show. Her writing and commentary have been featured in newspapers and outlets including The Jerusalem Post, and Khaleej Times. Career Bouzo started her media career in 2006 in Syria. She is best known as the main host of the political television show, ''The Axis''. After training at Sham TV from 2007 to 2008, she began working at Orient TV, where she hosted two entertainment TV shows titled "In and Out" and "Dramatech". In 2012, she became a news correspondent for Orient News in Washington D.C. She became the Washington D.C. Bureau Chief, with a political news show called "The Axis". Syrians ( ar, سُورِيُّون, ''Sūriyyīn'') are an Eastern Mediterranean ethnic group indigenous to the Levant. They share common Levantine Semitic roots. The cultural and linguistic heritage of the Syrian people is a blend of both indigenous elements and the foreign cultures that have come to inhabit the region of Syria over the course of thousands of years. The mother tongue of most Syrians is Levantine Arabic, which came to replace the former mother tongue, Aramaic, following the Muslim conquest of the Levant in the 7th century. Elliot Engel is an American author, writer, scholar, and lecturer. Biography Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Engel now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has served as a professor and lecturer at UCLA (where he was awarded the University's Outstanding Teacher Award and where he earned his M.A. and Ph.D. as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow), at North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Duke University.
