Hayvenhurst
Hayvenhurst is a compound in the Encino neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley in California, United States. It became the home of the Jackson family, including Michael Jackson, who perfected the Moonwalk and recorded demos for the albums '' Off the Wall'', '' Thriller'', and '' Bad'' there. The compound was purchased by Michael's father Joe Jackson in May 1971 after the first commercial successes of The Jackson 5. The estate is on Hayvenhurst Avenue, Encino, in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. Its centerpiece is a 5-bedroom, 7-bathroom, -building. It also includes three small stores that resemble a candy store, a puppet shop, and an ice cream shop. Additions to the property in the 1980s include a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs diorama, a movie theater, and a koi pond. "Hayvenhurst" was also the name of an earlier palatial estate located in West Hollywood, constructed in 1907 by W. H. Hay, the subdeveloper of Crescent Heights and the eponym of Hayvenhurst Avenue. Garden Of Allah Hotel
The Garden of Allah was a famous hotel in West Hollywood, California (then an unincorporated area of Los Angeles which was usually considered a part of Hollywood, Los Angeles, Hollywood), at 8152 Sunset Boulevard between Crescent Heights and Havenhurst, at the east end of the Sunset Strip. Originally a estate called Hayvenhurst, it was built in 1913 as the private residence of real estate developer William H. Hay. Alla Nazimova acquired the property in 1919: she converted it into a residential hotel in 1926 by adding 25 villas around the residence, which opened as the "Garden of Alla Hotel" in January 1927. In 1930, new owners renamed it the "Garden of Allah Hotel" (adding an 'h'). The property operated under a succession of owners for three decades until the last, Bart Lytton, owner of Lytton Savings & Loan, demolished the hotel in 1959 and replaced it with his bank's main branch. Encino ( Spanish for "oak") is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. History In 1769, the Spanish Portolá expedition, first Europeans to see inland areas of California, traveled north through Sepulveda Pass into the San Fernando Valley on August 5 and stayed two nights at a native village near what is now Los Encinos State Historic Park. Bubbles (born April 30, 1983) is a chimpanzee once kept as a pet by the American singer Michael Jackson, who bought him from a Texas research facility in the 1980s.
