HayPost ( hy, Հայփոստ) is the official national postal operator of Armenia. It was founded in 1991 following the collapse of the Soviet Union. HayPost has 900 locations in Armenia, from urban to remote and rural regions, as well as two overseas offices in the United States. The headquarters of HayPost is located in Yerevan. History In November 2006, the HayPost Trust Management B.V. was created to operate HayPost by the Dutch Post Finance International Company. Awarding the operational contract of HayPost to the Dutch company was approved by the Central Bank of Armenia. The Trust Management is currently owned by Argentine businessman Eduardo Eurnekian. In 2007, HayPost became a member of PostEurop, an association of 52 European public postal operators. As of 2019, HayPost has approximately 4000 employees. Zvartnots International Airport
Zvartnots International Airport ( hy, Զվարթնոց միջազգային օդանավակայան, translit=Zvart'nots' mijazgayin ōdanavakayan) is located near Zvartnots, west of Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia. It acts as the main international airport of Armenia and is Yerevan's main international transport hub. It is the busiest airport in the country. Telecommunications in Armenia involves the availability and use of electronic devices and services, such as the telephone, television, radio or computer, for the purpose of communication. The various telecommunications systems found and used in Armenia includes radio, television, fixed and mobile telephones, and the internet. Universal Postal Union
The Universal Postal Union (UPU, french: link=no, Union postale universelle), established by the Treaty of Bern of 1874, is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) that coordinates postal policies among member nations, in addition to the worldwide postal system. The UPU contains four bodies consisting of the Congress, the Council of Administration (CA), the Postal Operations Council (POC) and the International Bureau (IB). Czarist Russian postmarks and stamps were in used in the territory of Armenia from 1858. The early postmarks were composed of dots in different shapes. Dated postmarks with city names soon followed. The Armenian economy contracted sharply in 2020, by 5.7%, mainly due to the 2020 Armenia-Azerbaijan war. In contrast it grew by 7.6 per cent in 2019, the largest recorded growth since 2007, while between 2012 and 2018 GDP grew 40.7%, and key banking indicators like assets and credit exposures almost doubled.
