Hayden Norris
Hayden Norris (born 21 August 2002) is an English cyclist. He has represented England at the Commonwealth Games. He retired for a short time in May of 2023 citing saddle sore issues, however, later confirmed he would continue cycling after achieving a power of 2181 watts. Biography Norris has been riding since the age of 13 and won the 2021 European Under-23 Championships gold medal in the sprint. He won the silver medal in the team sprint at the 2022 British National Track Championships, a year after winning bronze in the same event. Stafford
Stafford () is a market town and the county town of Staffordshire, in the West Midlands region of England. It lies about north of Wolverhampton, south of Stoke-on-Trent and northwest of Birmingham. The town had a population of 70,145 in the 2021 census, It is the main settlement within the larger borough of Stafford which had a population of 136,837 (2021). History Stafford means "ford" by a staithe (landing place). The original settlement was on a dry sand and gravel peninsula that offered a strategic crossing point in the marshy valley of the River Sow, a tributary of the River Trent. There is still a large area of marshland north-west of the town, which is subject to flooding and did so in 1947, 2000, 2007 and 2019. 2022 British National Track Championships
The 2022 British National Track Championships were a series of track cycling competitions. The National Track Championships (excluding certain events) were due to be held from 28 to 30 January 2022 at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome in Newport, Wales. However, following further issues regarding the COVID-19 pandemic the event was rescheduled for 3 March to 6 March. They are organised and sanctioned by British Cycling, and are open to British cyclists. The championships are sponsored by HSBC. The Derny, Omnium, Madison, Tandem and inaugural Elimination events took place at various other dates throughout the year. 2022 Commonwealth Games
The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. Birmingham was announced as host on 21 December 2017. The Games marked England's third time hosting the Commonwealth Games after London 1934 and Manchester 2002, and the 7th Games held in the United Kingdom, with previous events in Wales and Scotland: Cardiff 1958, Edinburgh 1970 and 1986 and Glasgow 2014.
