Blake Edward Hawksworth (born March 1, 1983) is a baseball coach and former Major League Baseball pitcher. He played college baseball at Bellevue Community College in 2002 and professionally for the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers between 2009 and 2011. Early life and career beginnings He grew up in Sammamish, Washington, and was drafted in the 28th round out of Eastlake High School in by the Cardinals. He played one year of baseball at Bellevue Community College (now simply Bellevue College) before signing with the Cardinals as a draft and follow. Derek Hawksworth
Derek Marshall Hawksworth (16 July 1927 – 24 March 2021) was a footballer who played in the position of winger for Sheffield United. Football career Hawksworth started his career with Bradford Park Avenue in 1946, before moving to Huddersfield Town, although he never made an appearance for either club. In 1948, he moved to Bradford City and made 75 appearances with 20 goals for the West Yorkshire side. Hawksworth was 23 when he signed for Sheffield United in 1950 in a double transfer along with fellow winger Alf Ringstead, for a total outlay of £15,000. He was strong, fast and dangerous near goal, and was at his best in an outside-left position, but served United well in all the other forward positions. He played an integral part in United's 7–3 defeat of Sheffield Wednesday in the Steel City derby at Bramall Lane on 8 September 1951, scoring an equaliser and a fourth goal in a match never to be forgotten by Blades fans. Frederick William Hawksworth (10 February 1884 – 13 July 1976), was the last Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Great Western Railway (Great Britain) (GWR). Early career Hawksworth spent his entire career at the Swindon Works of the GWR. He joined the company as an apprentice in 1898, aged 15, becoming an apprentice draughtsman in 1905 under George Jackson Churchward. Hawksworth was one of Churchward's "Bright Young Men", and was involved in his revolutionary designs including the general arrangement drawings for "The Great Bear". Following Churchward's retirement in December 1921, Hawksworth was appointed Chief Draughtsman to his successor Charles Collett where he co-ordinated the work on the King Class. John Frederick Hawksworth (born 27 March 1961) is a retired professional golfer who played on the European Tour between 1986 and 2000. Hawksworth had a successful amateur career during which he won the Lytham Trophy in 1984. He was a member of the Great Britain and Ireland team in the 1985 Walker Cup alongside Colin Montgomerie and David Gilford, after which he turned professional. Johnny Hawksworth (2 February 1924 – 13 February 2009) was a British bass player and composer who lived and worked in Australia beginning in 1984. Biography Born in London in 1924, Hawksworth initially trained as a pianist, but also played double bass for Britain's leading big band the Ted Heath Orchestra during the early 1950s and through the 1960s. During this time he became one of the most popular jazz bassists in the UK, winning many polls and was often featured as a soloist on Heath concerts and recordings. Anthony Hawksworth (born 15 January 1938) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Manchester United. He was born in Sheffield and grew up in the village of Dungworth in the Stannington area of the city. The formative years of his football career were spent in the Manchester United youth teams, playing in the same sides as players like Duncan Edwards and Bobby Charlton. With Manchester United's youth team, he became one of five players to win three consecutive FA Youth Cup winner's medals, in 1954, 1955 and 1956.
