''Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'' is a #1 selling bilingual English/Norwegian album by Norwegian singer Kurt Nilsen in participation of Kringkastingsorkestret (KORK), the Norwegian Radio Orchestra conducted by Nick Davies. The Christmas album was released on 15 November 2010 and hit #1 in 9 different years (2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021). "Auld Lang Syne" (: note "s" rather than "z") is a popular song, particularly in the English-speaking world. Traditionally, it is sung to bid farewell to the old year at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. "Nu tändas tusen juleljus" is a Christian traditional Swedish language Christmas song, written in 1898 by the Swedish song text writer Emmy Köhler (both text and melody). Translated into English, the title literally means "Now are lit a thousand Christmas candles". The theme of the song is the gospel of the newborn Christ and specifically its aspects of domestic harmony and inner peace, brought by the lights of candles as well as of the stars above, most importantly the star of Bethlehem. Kurt Erik Nilsen () (born 29 September 1978) is a Norwegian pop/country singer. He won the first season of the Norwegian reality show ''Idol'', which aired on TV 2 in May 2003. He then won a one-off international version of ''Pop Idol'' called ''World Idol'' on 1 January 2004, featuring winners of the various national ''Idol'' shows.
