Valgerd Svarstad Haugland (born 23 August 1956) is a Norwegian teacher, politician and civil servant. She was leader of the Christian Democratic Party in Norway from 1995 to 2004. She was Minister of Children and Family Affairs from 1997 to 2000 and Minister of Culture from 2001 to 2005. Since 2019, she has been County Governor of Oslo and Viken. Prior to that, she served as county Governor of Oslo and Akershus from 2011 to 2018. As Minister of Culture and Church Affairs she paid special attention to voluntary work. She withdrew as party leader at an extraordinary annual assembly of the party on 23 January 2004. Terje Haugland (born 11 April 1944) is a former Norway, Norwegian long jumper. He was a nephew of Jens Edv. Haugland, son of Eugen Haugland and father of Hanne Haugland. Knut Magne Haugland, DSO, MM, (23 September 1917 – 25 December 2009) was a resistance fighter and noted explorer from Norway, who accompanied Thor Heyerdahl on his famous 1947 ''Kon-Tiki'' expedition. Early life and World War II Haugland, born in 1917 in Rjukan, Telemark, Norway, took his examen artium in 1937 qualifying him for university study. John Haugland
John Didrik Haugland (born 23 September 1946 in Stavanger) is a Norwegian former rally driver. He competed in 27 world rally championship events, more often than not at the wheel of a Škoda. He had four Top 10 finishes in his career. Haugland debuted in his first rally in 1965, and had over 100 class wins primarily in the 1970s and 1980s. He worked for the Norwegian Škoda importer as a teenager and they helped him in his rally career. His first race as an official Škoda driver came in 1968. Haugland raced a few times for other, bigger teams, but preferred the camaraderie and open nature of the little Škoda team. Haugland also owned a Škoda dealership outside of Oslo. Haugland is educated as a car technician and has gained much experience and skill in developing racing cars.
